When our family founded Southland Sod Farms, we pledged to take whatever extra steps were necessary to cultivate the healthiest, most beautiful sod ever available in Southern California. We’ve been in the sod business for over 40 years now, and even after our initial success, the Gramckow family promise continues to innovate and improve.

I had Southland Marathon sod installed in my backyard about 4 months ago. I noticed some issues and called and received an immediate call from your representative, John Domenici. John and I communicated over text and I received excellent information. John also came to my house and thoroughly explained my issue and how to resolve it. John was extremely pleasant and knowledgeable and a delight to talk to. Southland Farms is lucky to have such an outstanding employee as John. Thank you.

Testing the Birdeye 5 star review!
Renato came to our home today to review the problems with our grass. He pointed out issues with our sprinklers and offered suggestions on how to adjust them in order to achieve better coverage. He also pointed out that we had an infestation of white grubs and offered a suggestion on a product on will kill them. I found Renato to be very knowledgeable and professional.
A few months ago, we ordered St Augustine sod. It was lush and green and super healthy. After laying it I realized I hadn’t put the fertilizer down 1st, so I sprinkled it on top. Then I watered it 3 times a day and it was soggy wet. Pretty soon it was a brown mat of dead grass. We called and said we messed up and killed it and asked what we did wrong. We are having issues with our Marathon II sod. I called Southland Sod for help and our area representative came to our house a few hours later to review how we are taking care of the grass. John provided recommendations for fertilizing, irrigation and insect control. We were impressed with John’s same day visit and how knowledgeable he is! Thanks!
Renato was great! He came to see our lawn twice and would have come more if necessary. With his assistance, he helped us turn a sad looking lawn into one that was luscious and green. I called Southland Sod Farms and they provided me with a local Reps contact info. I called the Rep, John and right off the bat he was extremely nice and wanted to help. After I explained our lawn situation he offered to come by our house same day to take a look. Think about In-N-Out and then think about McDonald’s. Southland Farms is like In-N-Out and Marathon 2 is their Double-Double. Mouth-watering, fresh, high quality every time.
