When our family founded Southland Sod Farms, we pledged to take whatever extra steps were necessary to cultivate the healthiest, most beautiful sod ever available in Southern California. We’ve been in the sod business for over 40 years now, and even after our initial success, the Gramckow family promise continues to innovate and improve.

After the first installation of our sod failed due to errors made by our landscape company, we reached out and were connected with Norm Lopez. He was on it right away and came to our house to diagnose the problem. Under his guidance we replaced the whole yard and it is doing great! Southland and especially Norm stood behind their product and made sure things were done properly.
After a lot of research my wife and I decided that Marathon 1 was our best choice for our SoCal lawn. We need a lawn that is durable, stays green all year and won't require a 2nd. mortgage to water it and Marathon 1hits all those points. I'm a do it yourselfer. I got the yard ready, bought the seed and hit a glitch. I have a Scott's drop spreader and finding the right setting was impossible.
