Food, service, ambience, noise level all were great. We had a great birthday dinner. I will be back for happy hour and eating dinner in the bar area as well as for special occasion dinners in the DR.
Excellent food, atmosphere, and service! We need more restaurants like this in the Twin Cities.
This was my second trip to the Commodore. I came with my parents and their friends from Church. They said this was their new 'go-to' place!

An very good meal in a historic location. The service was excellent. The old pictures were fun to look at.
We had reservations for Saturday at 8:30 but over the phone the hostess told me we could come early without reservations and sit in one of the lounge areas where she said the seating was exactly the same as the dining room but without the white linens. Decor and historical ambiance complemented by the delicious beautifully presented food. Definitely would recommend as a little more upscale dining experience.
This was our first visit and my wife and I arrived about an hour early. We spoke to the host and he gave us a brief tour of the restaurant, the decor and ambience was amazing right from the start. We then took a seat in an open area near the front door. We then proceeded to have a couple cocktails, and they were phenomenal. I highly recommend them. Once our meal time came around, we were seated in the dining area which was rather noisy, but very elegant. The food was superb. Arriving very early turned out to be a wonderful i... read more
My husband and I heard about this restaurant because they are affiliated with The University Club of St. Paul, our wedding venue. We made the reservation to celebrate my 25th birthday and we had the loveliest time. William, our server, provided excellent service and I had no complaints. The food was sublime and the cocktails also exceeded expectations. I loved the historic atmosphere and the ambiance. The menu is priced accurately and matches the value and quality of the food offered. We will definitely be back often.
