These people are criminals. They charged my credit card for someone else's membership dues, without my authorization, and sent my membership to collections. I ignored it because I saw it was being paid every month on my card. I asked membership services to fix their mistake and they hung up on me 3 times when I called (despite the fact that I was polite with them) after putting me on hold for long periods. This is a beautiful gym, however, the staff is their downfall. You walk in and almost every person behind the desk is either looking right at you and not greeting you, or turning their backs in the other direction. A few of the female associates behind the desk have serious attitude as well. Not to mention, I've stood at the desk for about 5 minutes trying to get the attention of one of the associates so I could go tanning and the person turned their back to finish eating their meal. HORRIBLE MANAGEMENT Worked out at the edge on a free day pass, great facility and very clean. Was leaving and talking to an employee about memberships when he told me to come back and gave me another free day pass so I could decide. Came back today and when I gave the "manager" my free day pass she declined me and told me I had to pay. Didn't make sense, why was I given another free pass then? I was going to leave the Edge alone, but since they won't afford me the same respect and curtesy, here goes: I've never experienced a health club this relentless in it's stalking or more shameful in it's bait and switch tactics. Here's what you need to know: whatever price they tell you is NOT the price. The"deal" is not the a deal. the "discount" is not a discount. It's a lie. I like the sports club, but it's impossible to leave! They asked me to submit a one way ticket as proof! I did that, next they want proof, specifically. A visa or a "green card". If the country to which I am moving to in the first place does not require a visa, where on earth am I going to get a visa from? I have been a member since July of 2016 and have only gone 1. I initially joined and left Planet Fitness because they offered classes, however it's a complete scam and joke. The classes have to be booked no more than 24 hours in advance and online, so if you are without internet service (like you can't log on from work) you are hosed. Not too mention the classes that are offered at peak times are extra charge classes, so much for free!! I came here last week because I go to school at Westconn and this Edge gym is just about a mile down the road. The street it is located on is super busy so it is kind of hard to turn left, luckly there is a light on one of the exits so if you go that way you will be good. The gym itself seems small and cramped. The one in Norwalk must be almost twice the size. They barley have any fitness classes at all. There is also a women's only section which people pay extra for. Way too busy...always have to wait for equipment..often there are groups of people just socializing on the equipment..plan on having difficulty finding parking..tried to go today and parking lot was filled with people parked illegally
This gym is a joke!!!! Their memebership is a complete scam with hidden fees, good luck with ABC financial which is their billing company. There are random charges and fees charged to your credit card every month. The employess are not helpful they seem like they hate their job, you cannot get anyone to smile or help you out.
