I've been a member of The Edge going on three years now. I regularly go to the one in Stratford and I am pleased with the service there. The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming. However, the same cannot be said for the location in Fairfield. The staff is extremely rude and unprofessional. I had an incident at their "juice bar" where I wanted to order a protein shake - the two gentlemen there stared at me like I was an idiot for ordering that. On top of that, neither of them knew how to make the shake. It took a third... read more

My wife and I joined and then she couldn't go because of health problems. Not once did either of us use the facilities. I tried to cancel. They said no because I had agreed to a one year contract. It ended up costing me over $5,000. Any c ompany that would do that does not care about its customers. I am astonished that they are co popular. Planet Fitness for me!

The Edge itself is fine and their classes although really full are great. But the billing company they use, ABC Financial is AWFUL. They make it impossible to cancel, they charge ridiculous hidden fees for the stupidest things and are impossible to reason with. It's too bad because the Edge does offer a lot but it's not worth it to deal with such a sketchy scam ridden rip off report laden billing agency.

Be prepared. Signing up is easy, in person and instant. But, try canceling. When you call headquarters they tell you to call your individual location. When you call the individual location they tell you they can't help you, and that you have to call some company. The main line doesn't allow for you to cancel. They make you wait for an agent. Of course, there is the pressure from that agent and then they have to "look up your cancellation method" as if it's some mystical thing. Oh, there it is. You have to submit you... read more

It's a really nice gym... if you can get in. I've belonged to The Edge for many years, and unfortunately, greed has totally ruined this gym. It is way, way, WAY over-enrolled. And they are still advertising locally like crazy. I heard there's over 13,000 members. C'mon. That's ridiculous. You can never get a parking spot, and when you have that problem, you can be rest assured you'll have to wait for a machine. It's hard enough to motivate to go to the gym, but with all those obstacles, it's easy to just say f*ck it.... read more

$19 a month sound good? Well for me, one month turned into a $1400+ expense. As others have mentioned, the parking situation is abhorrent. The lot is huge, so you wouldn't think so, but drive by at 5 or 6pm and you'll see people parked on side streets, sidewalks, and the grass. My car was hit while parked in the lot, and I was parked in a legal spot. It caused $1400 worth of damage and no note was left. I documented all the damage, as well as had it assessed from a local body shop who's owner experienced an increase ... read more

The fitness edge has the absolute worst spinning instructors!Tthey are all women and they play the same "hit"radio songs. They teach the class as if you are doing aerobics on a bike. Hardly anyone is on time to start the class and once they are there the tend to talk about their weekend. Once the class starts, they talk too much so that you are not focused on the workout(although horrible). The Fitness Edge needs to invest in some quality instructors if they want to fill up their spin classes and maintain a great fitness en... read more

I was a member of the Edge for over 5 years, but had to cancel my membership due to moving out of state. I am extrememly disappointed with the membership cancellation procedure. You cannot cancel your membership through the Edge, but you must go through ABC Financial. They are extremely difficult to deal with and in contacting the management at the Edge, they referred me to ABC Financial because they don't handle cancellations in house. This is awful customer service and seriously diminishes the experience I had at the Edge ... read more
