This gym gets packed! Makes it difficult to find a machine a lot of times which makes your workout longer. Locker rooms are ok. Other fitness edge gyms have saunas. They used to have many more types of classes but now the new classes, you have to pay extra for. Speaking of extra, their private trainer prices are high compared to other big chain gyms around.

Business response:

Thank you for your feedback. We offer plenty of equipment to use for the peak hours... This way there is always something available to use. Which classes are you interested in? We offer over 800 classes a week to choose from which are included in your membership! You also do get a free personal training session with your membership to get you started.

I agree with some of the other reviewers- Read your contract before signing up. To their credit- it does state their terms. That being said, however, their terms are pretty shady. I get it, you sign up for a year and you're locked in. But if you want to cancel after that, you have to go thru leaps and bounds to do it. Must be within 30 days of your contract end date (so you're stuck until then which is BS). The exception to that is if you move and there isn't a gym within 15 miles, you get injured (have to provide a doctors ... read more

The Edge has a lot of equipment. I especially like the boxing room. But it's overwhelmingly crowded since they let everyone from neighboring towns join. Staff is impersonal and lacks personality. Trainers look like shoe sales people. Cost is decent. 25 a month.

Honestly, it is a nice gym inside, but the company is just awful. Also, their customer service is so bad! I am a student and they told me that I only had two options to sign up for a year or 2 years. They forgot to mention that they did have a 3 month student plan which is what I was looking for(which I found out after I signed up for a year). So I signed up and when my year was up they didn't mention it or tell me anything and started charging me monthly, which was more then what I was originally paying for and when I calle... read more

Attention!! This club sends out scam-like emails to try and caputre additional monies they claim to be "past due" while trying to re-committ you to their club. Today (and several other times in the last 3 years) I have received emails like the one below. Today, I received an email from Danielle Desroiser, telling me my membership is past due. This is not the case, as I moved to California 4 years ago, and left with a $0 balance. After I told her that I did not owe money, and I live in CA, she said "All Set" .. Like sh... read more

I used to work for this company. I thought it was a great place to be especially since I have a passion to train and stay in shape. Well the first day of work wasn't so bad but the next day and so on got worse and worse. The whole company with the exception of the three owner partners, does nothing but talk bad about you behind your back. It's even worse for all of you customers. To any of you who read this that are over weight they will bash you as soon as you walk away. On top of it all, if you ever change your information... read more

$$ Scheme. Cannot Cancel Edge Fitness Membership. Automatic Renewal. The Edge "is not responsible for payments". You will have to call another company, who will make it Very Difficult to cancel. In my experience, too, the staff is 1). Uninterested and Incompetent, 2). Condescending and Superior. Go if you know you want a good grungy gym nearby, just please remember you Cannot Cancel unless you mail/email proof that you've moved 15 miles from any Edge Fitness location (always expanding to entrap new members), and that you... read more

I paid for a one year membership upfront because I know how hard it is to get out of contracts. Also, what most of you don't know is that when your membership automatically renews, your rate goes up to $26. per month. My issue is that the treadmills always have issues. It's a good bet that if a treadmill is available, it's because it's broken. Also, the parking and crowding is an issue also, but I can go during the day to avoid that issue. on the plus side, they have everything you need and keep it nice and clean.
