This place is terrible. Every time I go with my girlfriends all the trainers and staff there look at us and check us out. The guys are always whispering and pointing and the girls are always clearly making smart remarks and judgements. The members there for the most part are awful to. The low prices bring in low class clientele. I tried the other gyms like Norwalk and even spoke to the manager Jason there who at first seemed very professional but then started going on about how he agrees but management refuses to hire better... read more

I have been working out here regularly for 3 years with no complaints. Had misfortune to go out to my car and find passenger window smashed and purse that was under the seat gone. Cash, drivers license, and credit cards gone. Staff were completely unsympathetic and did not even offer me a glass of water despite my distress. Police officer told me theft is a regular occurrence at this gym. Very few cameras in the parking lot. No security guard. If there were negative stars I would use them!!! My son signed up to work out at the club for the summer to prepare for his first football season in college. The club made him sign an agreement to use their personal trainers. Overall the personal trainer was great but when it came to canceling the contract the club claimed it could only be done in person and with the manager who was never around to complete this transaction. This relates to the gym in Greenwich. Great place and great trainers. My issue is that they automatically charge my credit card $1600 to renew the training sessions about 6 weeks in advance. they do this every year and it pisses me off every year. This year, I decided to talk to the mgr about it, and after about 3 weeks of trying to reach him, he called me back and said their policy was to not refund anything for any reason. Other locations are fine - I used to go to the Fairfield Edge out of the convenience of it being in my hometown. They're nothing but a rip off and all about sales. Don't fall for it. All they see are $$$, they could care less about your well being. If they can find a way to sneak in 'service charges' for ANYTHING they will. Scammers!

Tried to cancel my membership but was told I have to pay for an additional month of not using the gym because there's a 30 day notice period. Absolute shady business practice and clear way of trying to get as much money from me as possible. Will not come back and will not recommend.

I only went to the Edge Fitness twice. Although it was a nice facility, after only going twice (within my first week) I was no longer able to make it there. When signing up, I informed the female employee that I planned on going until january or so and she said it would be no problem and that all I had to do was call up and cancel it.... So now, as a broke college kid I was lied too and am being told I have to pay almost $250 for my annual contract that I did not even know existed. My daughter while in High School joined the Edge despite my warnings about some of their history and billing practices. Knowing she was going off to college in the fall, we approached the club to give them their 2 month notice to cancel membership when you go off to college. We tried to do this, were passed off by the front desk. We sent notices to their billing department, to no avail.
