Absolutely the worst customer service. Unfortunately, you're locked into their contract, and there is no way of getting out. I joined other gyms, as I could never find parking, or equipment (sure, there's so much equipment, but if you have a plan in mind of what you wanted to work on or use, and the equipment isn't available and you're waiting forever). Yeah, sure.. it's upgrade, has a cinema which i think everyone could live with out. It's just always packed. I tried TWO DIFFERENT locations in ONE NIGHT... Trumbull then Ham... read more

Their billing company is AWFUL. Extra charges and higher fees magically on your credit card bill! The manager erika never has a smile on her face, along with many of the other workers. They are rude and impersonal. The only members who actually probably enjoy their exsistance are the juice heads that flirt with the female workers. For workers that basically see the same people everyday (their paying members) you would think they would be a little more friendly. When I wake up at 5 am and go there, I dread seeing Virginia and... read more

I'm currently a member of Planet Fitness and overall I like their services and price. I was thinking of canceling my PF membership and joining The Edge due to all the classes and lots more equipment they have but all these reviews (especially the ones about their billing issues) are scaring me. I think I'll stick with PF just to be sure my bank account or credit card isn't maxed out by The Edge if their billing practices are THAT bad.

I just want to say I got frustrated calling for certain membership advisor and one of them name Kelly keeps pushing for me to speak to her as if she wants to get the commission or credit for it . She's very annoying I kept asking for cafe and she keeps saying she doesn't work their when I spoke to the young lady (cafe) recently . I'm tired of calling and every time Kelly picks up she doesn't know who I'm talking bout . Then recently she gave me an attitude as if I was some delusional person calling asking for a random person... read more

SHADY CUSTOMER SERVICE! (would give 0 stars if i could). am a college student and local to edge fairfield. - I clearly told the woman upon signup that i am only in school for 9 mo. to which she replied "no problem, cancel at any time" (and steered me away from the 8mo 'student contract)- turns out I'm in a 12 mo. contract plus start up and yearly member fees. (Its kind of hard to read my agreement when its behind a computer screen of a misinformed/deceptive staff members desk) -Also, I've been back and forth trying to ... read more

This gym gets packed! Makes it difficult to find a machine a lot of times which makes your workout longer. Locker rooms are ok. Other fitness edge gyms have saunas. They used to have many more types of classes but now the new classes, you have to pay extra for. Speaking of extra, their private trainer prices are high compared to other big chain gyms around.

I agree with some of the other reviewers- Read your contract before signing up. To their credit- it does state their terms. That being said, however, their terms are pretty shady. I get it, you sign up for a year and you're locked in. But if you want to cancel after that, you have to go thru leaps and bounds to do it. Must be within 30 days of your contract end date (so you're stuck until then which is BS). The exception to that is if you move and there isn't a gym within 15 miles, you get injured (have to provide a doctors ... read more

The Edge has a lot of equipment. I especially like the boxing room. But it's overwhelmingly crowded since they let everyone from neighboring towns join. Staff is impersonal and lacks personality. Trainers look like shoe sales people. Cost is decent. 25 a month.
