I've been a member of this club for quite a few years now, and have been generally pleased with the facility. I have noticed disturbing signs recently of lnattention to clients safety and needs. Today I lost another coat to theft in the locker room. The temperature outside was below freezing and management had no suggestions or remedies. There apparently are no cameras at the exits that would assist staff in helping identify thieves and no indication that management cares. Does Edge Fitness care about client security?

Pros - the price is competitive. They have bumper plates and a prowler* (a weighted sled that you push). Cons - the space can't accommodate the number of members, often even at off peak times. Sure you can find a treadmill or an elliptical but if you are there for the squat racks or lifting platform you will generally have to wait. The gym has quite a few members that are serious about their training and spend a lot of time with the serious equipment, i.e. the power racks. This relates to the gym in Greenwich. Great place and great trainers. My issue is that they automatically charge my credit card $1600 to renew the training sessions about 6 weeks in advance. they do this every year and it pisses me off every year. This year, I decided to talk to the mgr about it, and after about 3 weeks of trying to reach him, he called me back and said their policy was to not refund anything for any reason. I used to go to the Trumbull and Fairfield edge locations - loved them!!!! Then I moved and had to start going to this location. I have had a terrible experience before and today I decided to give it a second try. One, you have to pay more because it is a smaller location (makes complete sense right?). Two, the turf area is smaller than my studio apartment (that is saying a lot). Three, yes they have wifi, but no it does not work well. I wouldn't recommend this gym to anyone, they seem to think its the best Edge because it was the original but that's far from the truth. I wouldn't doubt the newer locations are much better and bigger, but this basement of fitness club is awful. The reason for 1 star is because it gets the job done and the employees are alright. My problem is with how crowded it gets and how they are encouraging more people sign up when the gym can't fit anyone else during peak hours and is tight during regular ones. I joined this gym 2 years ago, and during that time I feel the gym has deteriorated. I am particularly unhappy with the classes, since that was one of the primary reasons I joined this club. I have found that the class schedule is extremely limited Pilates, for one, is given 3 times a week, and at very inconvenient times, like 11AM. DO NOT JOIN EDGE FITNESS CLUB!! They will tell you if you move out of the area, or have a doctor note, you can cancel your membership any time. THAT IS A LIE!!!! I found out I'm pregnant after couple months joined edge fitness. I told them I feel suffocated and cannot breathe in the gym, because it's in the basement type of thing. This place makes absolutely no sense. You will pay more for the Greenwich location because they have a smaller location and a smaller parking lot. The equipment is old and not updated while the Fairfield/Trumball gym has brand new machines and they pay less per month. When questioned about the strange policy the staff said "well that's Greenwich for you." Great customer service! Don't waste your time here, there's a NYSC down the street.
