Just don't do it. I went there for the last 4 years because of the convenient location but when it was time to move out of the area I was put through the wringer. The staff is unfriendly and unhelpful and in my case gave me absolutely incorrect information regarding canceling my membership. Their corporate office is no better. I will never return to or recommend this location with its subpar equipment, overcrowded floor, inconvenient hours, and shady business practices.
The Edge Greenwich: Yes, the parking is terrible. Yes, the staff can be rude. Yes, the classes are full. Yes, they have childcare. But not when you want it. They have 3 tiers of membership now and I am on the top tier as childcare included in that tier. But they don't offer childcare Friday evenings. I have been a member for years. I recently signed up for training sessions and they overcharged me. I've been trying since October to get a refund; spoke with 3 managers who all tell me they will take care of it but have not yet received my refund. It appears they are not concerned with customer satisfaction.
I joined Edge because it was so conveniently located, but it was one of my worst decisions.The gym was overcrowded, and the staff was unprofessional and unhelpful. There were limited classes (that were always crowded), locker rooms were gross, and I was always being pushed to buy something (no I don't want a tanning package, I just want to work out on the elliptical... oh wait, none are free...again). The carpets in the locker room stinks. just plain gross.
This location doesn't even deserve one star. I have been going to these gyms since 2009, mainly their Fairfield location which is great. The Greenwich location isn't great and even worse their staff is horrendous. They are rude and at any point when help is needed regarding a question or signing up for a class, they will sooner roll their eyes at you. ****BEWARE OF RECURRING FEES AND CANCELLATION PIKICY ****** My kids and I joined as a family but rarely got the chance to go. Essentially we "donated" a years fees to the place. We told the manager we wanted to cancel and even sent emails to the gym. After a month or so I began receiving multiple calls from a debt collection agency ( Swift Debt Collection)They were the rudest, nastiest SOB's I have ever encountered. The facility is nice, bathrooms are clean, equipment is pretty good. So why two stars? -it's obnoxiously busy at all hours of the day. -you can't buy a 1 day pass without feeling like the sales team is breathing down your neck. I get it- you need sales, but seriously, it's a bit much. Leave someone alone, let them workout, and decide for themselves what the club is worth. -the staff is hit or miss. Some are very friendly, others are arrogant.
I've been a member of this club for quite a few years now, and have been generally pleased with the facility. I have noticed disturbing signs recently of lnattention to clients safety and needs. Today I lost another coat to theft in the locker room. The temperature outside was below freezing and management had no suggestions or remedies. There apparently are no cameras at the exits that would assist staff in helping identify thieves and no indication that management cares. Does Edge Fitness care about client security?
