Beware - personal training sessions are a scam. The club bills beyond the agreed upon time frame.
Been a member of this gym since they changed over from Golds Gym. Went the first two weeks after they reopened and it was a great. Counted 30 members or less every time. Than they allowed new members to join Month to Month memberships. Packed beyond belief, zero social distancing! Now they staff said that they are making the new members commit for a year from states where their gyms are closed. Ok so $120 is a deterrent??? DO NOT JOIN THIS CLUB. I moved to Florida in August and the gym continued to charge me until February when all my attempts to keep canceling it failed, I had my bank stop all payments. They wouldn't give me back the two hundred dollars worth of personal training sessions I paid for (which I understand) but now they're going to send my account balance of $26.58 to collections. Very happy I decided to try it out before signing up. This gym was mobbed with people, had poor ventilation, and parking was tight. When asking the front desk if it's always this grossly packed, the woman told me that it wasn't all that busy for this location that day. Yikes.
I've been a member for many years. I've always been happy with the staff, equipment and the cleanliness. However, In the past year they have oversold the memberships dramatically. It's now impossible to get a parking space after work on weeknights. And if you do get inside it's almost impossible to get a machine. The experience has really gone to hell in the past year. I'm definitely looking for a new gym.
Short Version: The gym is OK only if you do the $20 monthly membership and nothing more. STAY AWAY from personal training or any other extra service. They will lie and play dishonest games and continue billing your credit card. Long Version: I have been a member at the Greenwich, CT Edge Fitness location for almost 2 years. The Edge in Greenwich has horrible service. They have an attitude but are really nice when they want to sell you a membership. The gym manager is nasty and does not help or return phones regarding membership, rude and gym not clean. Not recommend for the money.
Not too bad for a gym if you can manage the parking on weekends. My big issue is that they scammed me out of a couple hundred dollars, partially my fault. I went in to cancel my membership six months ago. The gentleman at the desk said "OK, you're all set." He took my card and I left. This, apparently, is not how cancellations are done. It's a bad place . The manager on duty jul 9 7.20 pm should be fired . Not helpful, rude and treats you like a liar . Again she must be fired completely useless , rude . Doesn't even know how to treat clients . They are nice for you to become member but once you want to cancel the membership they make your life miserable .
