The problem with The Edge is endemic to most health clubs. After negative experiences at NYSC, specifically their financial practices (they were sued for these) we were very careful about joining a new club. We joined Chelsea Piers for some time - it was the most up front when it came to accounting practices but you pay a hefty price for that. BEWARE!! Once you give them a credit card, they will continue to charge you without your permission. They take no accountability and blame everything on corporate. Stay away as there are other gyms nearby that have a human side to their customer service.

Awful encounter at this facility. As a former corporate gym manager and current gym owner, I can't believe what happened in my 5 minute encounter with this facility. I told the front desk person that I just moved to the area and needed a day pass. He then tried to charge me $25 due to my ID being from out of state and asked for proof that I live in the area. I would never recommend this gym to anyone! I know several people who have had issues since covid including myself. You cannot drop down your membership even if you do not plan to take any classes post covid, you cannot cancel easily. Finally was able to cancel it but they still fit their annual fee in and refuse to take it off with a medical notice dated the same date the charge went through. Worst gym ever this mother fucking scumbag manager James Riemer is terrible and he blows off his customers. Don't join. Be very very careful here. They are crooks. I was an excellent customer who had personal training for myself and my daughter. I have requested from the manager four times since March to cancel my membership and have not set foot in the place, the most recent after I received a charge in June and again in July!! Not only are they charging random amounts TWICE a month but over double the membership fee for the basic services agreed upon!! Been a member of this gym since they changed over from Golds Gym. Went the first two weeks after they reopened and it was a great. Counted 30 members or less every time. Than they allowed new members to join Month to Month memberships. Packed beyond belief, zero social distancing! Now they staff said that they are making the new members commit for a year from states where their gyms are closed. Ok so $120 is a deterrent???
