It took me 3 MONTHS to cancel my membership. The gym is dirty and smelly, and they WILL NOT let you cancel without first going into the club to notify them, then calling a number and waiting on hold forever, then begging for them to let you cancel, but then they tell you you have to email a card which you were supposed to complete at the club, but that's not what the club said. So now I have to wait another term so they get even more of my money, and so it goes .... DONT JOIN!

I'm not very happy with this gym. My car was just broken into in their parking lot around 8 pm at night. There are lights out in the parking lot but the lighting is very dim. I feel unsafe. I will join another gym.

Don't even bother. Cancellation policy has to be the worst customer experience I have ever had. Gym is crap and not worth the nightmare of dealing with their customer service.

Business response:

Hi Matthew, we are sorry to hear that you're leaving us, and having some problems cancelling your account. If you've already started the cancellation process please reach out to the club's general manager and they can help you sort everything out. However, if you've already done that please reach out to our corporate office at 203-319-1964. We hope to resolve this situation for you.

Good gym, narcissistic crowd. Clueless management. I asked some guy to please stop texting while "employing" the lat pulldown yesterday evening. Kid gave me attitude and refused to let me work in. Had to insist that manager intervene last night. If you're into people staring at themselves in the mirror, join. If not, there are limited options in Norwalk/Westport for people who work out in the evening.

A bit on the policy/greedy side. Just called as wife's going to be away -- a temp freeze requires 30 days notice (impossible). I offered to pay a small fee and go in her place. Nope but they would be happy to take $70 from me (ALONG w/ the $ we are paying for her for Nov when she is away.) Mgr just quoted contract terms/policy. No real interest in members; just $. Not cool. Will try somewhere else.

I would say that overall The edge is fine for a corporate fitness experience. It is clean and they have lots of equipment. I have rarely not been able to use what I want die to overcrowding. But I have had problems with the rowing machines there. To start, Concept 2 has not made the model they have for almost 20 years. These machines are very tired. When I joined I was told that all equipment is updated constantly. This is obviously not true. Secondly complaints about the machines are ignored. Many of us have complained ab... read more

I have been a Fitness Edge member for over five years. The lack of cleanliness in all of the locations that I frequent (Fairfield, Milford, Stratford and Norwalk) has always been a concern - I have learned to bring my own hand sanitizer and cleansing wipes for the equipment because the Edge does not provide adequate supply. Recently I moved and changed from the Fairfield Edge to the Norwalk Edge. I frequent the Norwalk Edge Monday - Friday in the early morning hours. Although this gym is significantly less crowded than ... read more

Trainer is great but the gym management is weak. In fact the trainer is why they even get two stars. How they practice their business I wouldnt give them any. The little Blonde girl knows how to sell a bunch of training sessions but the part she doesn't tell you is of you need to cancel; what the process is like. They lock you in and don't let you get out for 2 years, NOT 1 year. I even mentioned that there was a huge change happening and I may loose work, to make sure there was a way to cancel. She reassured me it was a "f... read more
