The people who work there are very nice, even though they try to sell EVERYTHING to you. My only complaint is no one wears masks here. No one is walking around telling anyone to pull up their mask. And anything goes, I saw a man with a bandanna only covering his nose snd he was allowed in. I had to tell someone myself to pull up their mask.
Edge Deptford is not what it used to be. The music is terrible - They play year 2000 "top 40 hits" music. Why play this if the majority of the demographic is under 25? In addition they keep low level sports channels like "MavTv" on the TVs in the main weight area that only show car shows, monster trucks, and nascar type races and other pointless stuff. Not honest with potential customers, I went in to sign up for the Red $9.95 membership after checking the website for all extra fees, so I know what I'm getting myself into. Online in the fine print they had the process fee and enhancement fee for new equipment. I totally get that, but when I sat down to sign up, there appeared a $70 enrollment fee. I'm not sure if they are under new ownership but all they play in this gym is 2000's pop song (Vanessa Carlton, John Mayer,etc) Asked them if they can change it and he said he doesn't know how Also they play the hallmark channel in the women's area , kinda sexist? Go to Cherry hill or Washington TWp instead
Biggest scam ever! canceled our membership 8 months ago looked at my checking out found 5 charges from edge in last 2 months ! Are you kidding me? And they are all different numbers some are 49 some 37 23 19 and 12. What the hell are you charging me for? 3 of the charges were in October alone and 2 in September. I slid my mask down for some water, and I almost choked on the cleaning chemicals in the air! Also the amount of cleaning supplies they used was so much and so harsh, my skin is irritated and red now! Horrible!
I have been a member of the Edge for over 20 years ( back when it was the the Fitness Edge). I have been trying to cancel me membership through ABC financial since the beginning of June, when I read that the gym would be reopening and read what the guidelines that they were going to use for safety would be. Only sign up for this gym if you like being lied to. Once you walk in they greet you with high-pressure tactics to sign up. You never get to see the actual contract you are signing on their screen, and it is E-mailed to you past the 3 day window you legally have to back out. When I tried to cancel my membership, because they harass you to take a fitness exam and their classes are awful, they tell me I need a doctor's note. I've been trying to cancel my membership for over 6 months. I moved from the Deptford area to the Atlantic City area for work. I told a staff member this and he just told me that, that doesn't mean I can't still drive up to workout here . Great for whoever wants to travel over an hour to go to the gym, but I do not want to do that! Please cancel my account, I've emailed and have come in person several times already. I'd give 0 stars if it was possible.
