I was hoping when my dad moved into Sagebrook that he would have a lot to keep him busy, however they do not have a lot of activities available at this time. There are new owners and they have hired a new activities director as well as they are doing some renovations. So we are hoping things will improve. He does enjoy the meals and the staff are nice. Even though he is bored currently I would recommend this community.
Sagebrook of Carmichael is a wonderful senior community, offering many services and activities for loved ones. Every interaction with any staff member has been pleasant and helpful. They strive to exceed expectations of senior care, and are continually improving the facilities and programs as needs of the residents change.
When mom had Alzheimer's and it was clear we couldn't take care of her adequately any more, we looked around at a number of facilities. The Chateau was by far and away the very best of them. They took excellent care of mom. My uncle and I often went there to sing and play music for the residents, and they were delighted to have us there. I'm very, very glad we chose the Chateau. My mother just moved in a couple of days ago. She did respite care over the weekend and we just started to move more of her stuff in so she's still adjusting. So far it seems to be really good. It's great. There are no issues or concerns so far. She was coming from another Chateau community. I'm comfortable with the overall company that runs it because they're both Hank Fischer props and that a local company so I liked that. There were several reasons we chose this community for our loved one. The location was very convenient for our family. The price was right for what we needed. The appearance of the community was very nice and provides a comfortable setting; it was very warm and welcoming. Overall it just seems like a really good community that was within our budget. Too old for me.
My Mom choose the Landing, in part, because of transportation. A ride to the grocery store, pharmacy, Dr. appt. The van broke down and was not fixed for almost a month. I had to drive 45 minutes to help my Mom with a service she is paying for. When asked for a break in her rent we were rejected. New management is not welcoming or approachable for my Mom. Food is bland and the same thing everyday. Thinking about moving her out.
We did not like this community. We were told that between 6-8 am the front desk is completely unmanned and unsecured but we did not like this and the thought of the door being open.
This place is awful!!! I have waited over an hour for them to check on my mom who is elderly, her phone says it's unreachable, and I haven't spoken to her for 2 days. [name removed] at the front desk, has a real attitude! He said he" is not going to leave the front desk". The fact is, my mom never gets her room cleaned, and her trash bags pile up. It's outrageous!
