Excellent service, pleasant ambience, perfect location for pre or post Carnegie Hall. Portions are large so come with a hearty appetite or be prepared to take home a good portion of the meal. The antipasto choices for appetizers are well selected and all are delicious. I'm particularly fond of the Veal parmesan and eggplant parmesan entrées.

Salmon was great. Pizza was very good too. Very thin crust, more like a flatbread or thin cracker. That’s how we like it. If you prefer a typical pizza with a little more dough, this might not be for you. It’s very good though. Vegetable sides are also very good. We had cauliflower steak, Brussel sprouts, and butternut squash lasagna. We sat outside, so we couldn’t judge the inside noise level. Server and service was fantastic.

I have enjoyed Trattoria Dell Arte before. However, it appears to have declined in more ways than one. The vegetable antipasto was less alluring than in my memoir. The artichoke ragout had little flavor and there was some tough material in the fresh-cooked artichoke heart. We were rushed. Before even finishing our appetizer, our entrees arrived. This was our first time at Trattoria Dell'Arte and our last night in NYC. My daughter and I wanted a nice dinner for our last night in the city. It was close to our hotel (mid-town), the menu had lots of interesting options and bonus...a reservation available that fit our time-line. Took my daughter to New York for the first time and this was our first dinner together before a show on Broadway. The staff was incredible and the food was amazing.

Food was good but our server seemed annoyed by us. It was a little off-putting. Then we got a new server who was quite helpful so that was good. The restaurant itself is kind of a cool place.
Besides being sat in a far front corner of the restaurant, next to a random door, at a WAY TOO SMALL TABLE, the food and service were good.
