University Plaza, newly remodeled, has been a blast to live in for my last 2 years of college. The staff is super friendly and always willing to go the extra mile for their tenets. The living conditions are great and having security is always a plus! Ample parking, unlike some places in DeKalb, and an overall friendly environment. They recently introduced free yoga classes which are super fun as well! :) Seriously the best DeKalb has to offer.

Best Place I ever lived. The Staff is friendly and helpful. It has a 24/7 hour gym and it has free cable. I asked to be sub-lease and the staff took great care of me. It's also one year old, they just remodel the place. Don't listen to the Yelp review, the manager, his name is Patrick, he will take good care of you if you ask. Close to campus too, 10 min walk to DuSable.

Been living here through the transition to apartments since last summer. There were a few issues, most of them minor, but that's expected during construction. Sure, the water had to be shut off intermittently, but it wasn't an issue for me. They let everyone know well in advance and it was actually resolved ahead of schedule within a few hours. University plaza is pretty nice. The staff is very helpful to you and they have even gone out of there way to help me when they were off the clock. They're all willing to answer your questions and do what they can, if not, sometimes more to help you out with a issue. The rooms have a very nice style to them and the amenities are great especially as a college student. I have lived at University Plaza for going on three years, and I would and have advised many people to sign a lease to live here. I lived here before renovations, during, and still here currently, and I would like to say the change was great. Fully furnished apartments, Cable, and your own wifi, with amenities like the gyms, tanning booth, game room, at reasonable prices, what a steal! This private dorm is a decent place to live and, with the amenities it provides, way better than the dorms. They have 2 person suites or one person rooms. They have way more of the former, so register way in advance to try and get a single. The suites have individual rooms for each person, a common foyer area and share the bathroom (two sinks) and closet (huge walk-in, about double the size of an average closet). This is probably the nicest "dorm" in DeKalb. Pros: Lease that coincides with the school year. Fitness Center, Pool, Whirlpool, Ping Pong Tables, Pool Tables, and Air Hockey Tables in the building. Heating and Air Conditioning. Elevators (2 in each tower). Bringing alcohol into the building IS NOT against the rules, as long as you are of age and able to enjoy is responsibly. The manager is terrible; they don't help you. They lie about your sublease being done, and later we find out it is not. They give your person to another sublease.

Unscrupulous business practices. They will make up charges when you move out to get you to pay for their normal maintenance and painting. Will charge you for damages that they cannot prove are even your apartment. They do not respond or communicate either.
