To start this review, the company pressures you to renew in the first two months of renting and threaten that your rent will increase if you do not do it immediately. This is a basic scam tactic. They do not care about their no smoking policy as everyday my room smelt like weed and so did the hallway. The air conditioning does not exist as each unit cannot control its own temperature and the entire building is controlled by the company. Therefore it is almost never comfortable in the room. I have lived at UP for three years and have positive and negative experiences from it. When I lived in the B units with a roommate they offered direct transfer to my studio apartment the second year I lived their. It was $250 and worth the money versus taking everything out of my apartment and moving it 1.5 hours back home. First let me start off with RUDE staff! They always say something different than the TRUTH! It seems like Jessica is the only one with compassion. Upon living here, the washers were always broken! Id get charged twice for the laundry services! You have to pay for washing and drying and sometimes they dont even wash your clothes. Everything is always damaged. Multiple leaks in my room because they decided every room needed to have an entire wall of windows for some reason, which also leads to temperature problems. They attempt to solve these temperature problems by kicking your air conditioning unit to the most extreme cold or heat possible, there is no in between. Just had a lot of snow in the area last week. 90% of the property still remains unplowed with a lot of residents who got either plowed in by the little plowing they did or got stuck. The only spots to my knowledge that they plowed so far are the staff spots. Not even the handicapped spots or any other spots in the parking lot. There's also ice everywhere on the plowed pavement with NO salt in sight or icemelt. This wouldn't piss me off as much if we didn't have to pay for parking IN A LOT THAT IS UNUSABLE DURING SNOWFALL. Beware, these are furnished apartments, but condition of furniture may be more garage sale style. My son moved in 8/17/23. He was promised furniture similar to that on their website. He received this couch, which looks like they took it off the curb and put it in his apartment. Alerted manager that day, was handed a cheap couch cover. Said they may get in new couches in January. Can we give them negative stars? Be careful. They continuously add erroneous charges to your account. When providing cancelled checks to show it was paid, they still don't remove the charges. Their failure to process checks correctly should not be a residents problem. They are such scam artists - I would NEVER recommend living here to anyone. We have spent more time proving we paid rent (even resorted to physically dropping off 1 check for rent, 1 check for insurance and 1 check for parking). They still could not get it... read more

Do your sanity a huge favor and choose somewhere else for college housing. I was overcharged and had "fake" charges applied to my account at least 4 times during the few years I lived here. Every time you dispute the charges they argue over and over even if you have proof they cashed the check. One time they charged me for switching rooms when I was in the same apartment for 2 years. The leasing manager is never there and when she is, she's online shopping in her office. They are preying on college students to not notice fak... read more

Do not give these people your money. The office workers don't care about your concerns. You can't get packages on time. They force you to change rooms between leases. You'll get denied maintenance requests for essential things. The HVAC is never strong enough so rooms are hot in the summer and cold in winter. They'll tow you without proper notice.
