I want to gatekeep but I won't! I went to NY to celebrate New Year's in Times Square. I had originally planned on roughing it out for hours in the cold, but knowing how antsy and irritable I get waiting a long time and standing still, I started looking for NYE parties near Times Square. It's a known fact that NYE in New York will set you back a pretty penny if you decide to attend a party or dine at a restaurant in the vicinity. Streets are barricaded during New Year's and you can only get inside if you have a ticket to an e... read more

We ate here for lunch because it was a restaurant included with Hilton discounts. It's right down the street and convenient. As other posters noted, it's small inside. When we first walked in we weren't sure it was a deli because the menu board showed pizzas and a lot of Italian foods. Turns out the first screen was out which had the sandwiches. So we were handed the paper menu, ordered a corned beef Ruben ($12) and a pastrami on rye ($20!). I also got a fountain drink. I went over to the fountain and it had no ice. The Cok... read more

brooklyn delicatessen is underrated spot where the true essence of deli food shines. This fast casual spot offer breakfast, lunch and dinner. The lunch menu feature variety of sandwiches, chicken soup, salad and Also pizzas . One of my favorite here is the hot pastrami sandwiches, it's just so tender, juicy and tasty. Don't forget to grab a dessert, fruit or coffee pair with the sandwiches. Definitely make sure to check out this spot!! The decor is nice and friendly staff.

My girlfriend and I had coupons for a variety of restaurants. This one was the most reasonable. We went twice. The first time we had breakfast sandwiches and coffee. Very good. The second day we ordered a pastrami rueben and crispy chicken sandwich. Both were fantastic. Why only 4 stars? The dine in options were not great. The people were super friendly and very helpful. Would definitely recommend.

I went to the Brooklyn Deli before a show - it had everything we need and was a super affordable meal. We had a tuna melt and a hot pastrami sandwich - they were great! The pastrami was my fave. The location itself has a cute interior that feels like an old school diner. The staff helped me pick out the best sandwiches and were super friendly. It was a really convenient spot to go before a show - quick, affordable and delicious.

This place is not worth the amount of time it takes to get food! It HAS to be the slowest place in the city! Smoky ovens, staff doesn't care if you order or get your food at ALL. Jump across the street to Carnegie Diner and save yourself time and hassle!

Great egg sandwiches, but miss the Eggface in the Jar dishes where they would sous vide an egg on top of mashed potatoes inside of a jar and top with scallions, salt, and red pepper flakes and serve with bagel chips! That was by far my favorite breakfast in the city and I'm sad that currently it's off the menu :-(

So here is the thing. I'm a New Yorker so I expect the best otherwise why are you here? I passed by this Deli because I wanted to make sure an old Italian (business expense account restaurant in the day) was still there and then I noticed Brooklyn Delicatessen--and I've eaten at the proper restaurant on 57 th street years ago and its still there and they had a traditional Pastrami sandwich on the menu and it made my mouth water. It was 3pm and not busy so I ordered the sandwich and asked that one half be wrapped so I could p... read more
