I've waited to write this review until I calmed down a bit. I will say that in the past we have taken our cats here without issue and the vet made an attempt to follow up once I called and laid into her about the current situation, hence the two stars. However, at the end of September we took our young (1.5 year old) cat in due to a variety of symptoms and our suspicion that she had a bowel obstruction. The vet did an x-ray and said no, it was a double kidney infection. To make a long story short, after bringing her back in ... read more

When I called to try and get an appointment for our dog because she was lethargic, not eating well and vomiting of and on, I was told unless she was bleeding or barely breathing they could give me an appointment, but would see her in a couple of days!!!!! I called another clinic that saw her within 2 hours. We had to end up putting her down a week later. I will not return, not because of the end results, but because of not caring or taking the time to see her when she was so ill.

I have been taking by dogs there for years and had very good service. Lately it has been terrible. I have a new puppy and took her there for all of her puppy shots and a few weeks later had to get a kennel cough shot for training class and they were going to charge me an exam fee even though my dog was just there. I tried to talk to them about it and they would just argue with me about it. So, I took her some where else. I went ahead and had her spayed there. When I picked her up the price was $184.00 more than what I was t... read more

Business response:

Thank you for sharing your experience, Pam. I want to apologize for any miscommunication that occurred when discussing prices and also for the way you felt treated. We strive to have open communication and exceptional customer service, and it seems like this was not the case for you. Regarding your pup's vaccination, when a veterinarian gives anything to a pet he has to perform an exam, even if he saw that pet the day before. There are rules and laws we have to follow, and an exam is just one of them. You will find this is t... read more

I brought my dog in for neutering on a Thursday but was not told ahead of time to make sure & not feed him so then I had to reschedule and bring them in a different day. After the neutering was done, my dog was not given a cone to prevent him from licking the operated area. Dr. Howard said he hoped that he wouldnt lick it "most dogs don't." Well unfortunately my dog (like most in my experience) was able to sneak licks here and there until the area was fully aggravated. Now having to take a day off of work I took him back ... read more

My dog had to have surgery on her foot at an after hours clinic. We took her to Vacaville Animal Care Center for the follow up appointment and bandage changes. After they changed the first bandage we took our dog home and she promptly chewed the bandage off (which is common among dogs and hence the vets usually do something to prevent it). So we marched the dog back to Vacaville Animal Care Center and they were nice about changing the bandage and they were nice about charging us for the additional bandage change. So we t... read more

Business response:

Thank you for your feedback. Our hospital does take preventative measures to try and keep persistent pets from chewing their bandages. Typically, we will provide an elizabethan collar and coat the bandage with a bitter tasting spray. We also recommend supervision at home by the owner to help aid in preventing damage to an applied bandage as some pets will still find a way to chew around the safeguards. In most cases, we do not charge for the extra appointment, doctor and technician time needed to change a bandage that is che... read more

My dog was supposed to be cremated and returned before Christmas! On Christmas Eve I was told that his ashes were lost or misplaced, to come and get my money back!! Unbelievable and unforgivable!!! I will spread the word to everyone I can to not go here!!! They are heartless people that work there!

Business response:

It is true; there was an error in paperwork, and these remains were cremated but the ashes were not returned to us. We are deeply sorry for the emotional distress caused, especially at this time of year. We have been in business for more than 50 years, and for more than 25 years relied on the same family run pet cemetery for cremation services . We take these services very seriously, and will do everything possible to ensure it never happens again.
