I have been inquiring a place for my mom and drove by Village Veranda that had a sign up for tours and decided to go in. The wonderful marketing director came out and greeted me within 3 mins and gave me a tour. The facility was outstanding and had a beautiful courtyard with a pond. Everyone said hello and was pleasant. Even the Chef came out to talk at random and they gave me a dessert for mom on my way out. Wonderful experience!
Very nice place with lots of amenities. Food needs work.
Communication between management and employees seemed lacking. Promises were made from the top but not carried out. The time we were there a new director was in place for only a few weeks. She was having a challenge trying to get the staff on board with what her vision was. I believe they indicated that 24 hour nursing was on site for assisted living but I didn't find that to be the case. My mom passed in [date removed] and we moved in [date removed] so we weren't there long.
I would say it's okay for the money paid. There are positives and negatives.
The public areas of the facility are very clean. They get a 5 on that. HOWEVER, it appears that at least some of the residents' individual rooms are not nearly as well tended. My mom's small suite clearly had not been cleaned in several months. The shower floor and mat in the bathroom had orange mold growing all over it. The kitchen sink had slime in it from lack of basic wipe down, the microwave had old crumbs in it that were clearly a few weeks old, the carpet had obviously not been vacuumed in weeks. I would highly recommend Village Veranda. The staff is amazing from the application process through accommodating its residents with their transition and any concerns thereafter. I'm grateful for their care and concerns and can think of no place for my mom. My mom tells me every day how happy she is with her studio apartment, the staff, the food and everything Village Veranda.
The friendliness of the staff members gets a 5+. The staff members are so very friendly an very helpful. The food they service is also great.
My loved one was previously a resident at Village Veranda. I was very happy with these folks, I would definitely recommend them. The on boarding was organized and done well, the salesforce was pleasant and efficient.
I've had several interactions with the staff by phone and they've all been friendly and responsive. It was less expensive than the other places we toured but also the cleanest and most organized.
