The more recent reviews are more negative so perhaps something has changed at WR. My experience was terrible but the treatment of others that I observed was even worse. The "receptionists" never looked up from their screens when patients walked in the door and just pushed a clipboard across the counter. My first horrific experience with this place was actually a few years ago. I was referred by my gynecologist for an ultrasound, and the male doctor was cold, curt, and finished our short appointment by throwing open the door while I was still naked/spread eagle on the table. I literally made eye contact with someone passing by in the hallway before the nurse (who had the decency to look a little embarrassed for her asshole colleague) rushed to shut the door behind him. The rudest, coldest, most least empathetic place and staff I have ever witnessed. And I've witnessed a lot in the health world. This is a place where mostly women go to deal with injury and illness and the staff -at least on the mammogram side -are awful. Front desk and nurses. Not Only would I avoid this place at all costs, most everyone that works there should find a career we're being a cold rude and dismissive person is a requirement and they get bonuses for making customers feel awful. I had an 830 appointment on Saturday morning for an MRI. I called the day before to confirm that they had my doctors order. When I got there they said they had no record of it. Totally wasted trip
Sneaky. My doc recommended a test to be done at WR. A test covered by my insurance. WR didn't bother to get a preauthorization, which is their requirement with my insurance, united hc. However they slipped in a waiver in the prep documents. In effect allowing them to bill me directly after not bothering with their contractual requirements. So don't sign that waiver
Very poor patient service that resulted in a significant delay for my diagnostic test with zero apologies or any attempt to take responsibility for the delay in my care. My doctor referred me here for a time-sensitive diagnostic test. I called to schedule the exam, and received an appointment for the following week. I've been going to this center for several years and the experience has always been consistently professional. The same person who takes you to the exam room performs the mammogram. This year, the person who came to the dressing room asked me to sign a form without any explanation. I assumed I'd forgotten to sign something relating to insurance or address update. I've no complaints about my MRI technician who was professional and kind. However, my doctor's office informed me 3 weeks after the procedure that they hadn't received the MRI results. I have called Washington Radiology in Chevy Chase 3 times. Each time the medical records option went straight to voicemail with a promise for a response within 48 hours.
