my review in short'' attitude over animals", the front desk seems like your walking on eggshells with them....I have been a customer at whites for about 20 years, i like Kathy McFarland , I've been a client through several dogs, i brought most recent dog in and got meds for joint pain about 6 weeks later she appeared to be having a series of possible seizures, or?. i looked up on my phone and seizures were a possibility, it crossed my mind that it could be side effect from meds she had just gotten ,... or something else, a ... read more

Business response:

Sorry for your negative experience. After reviewing your chart I see not note of the incident. I will speak with McFarland as well and let her know your concerns.

This is not a poor review, this is criminal. Dr. Kathleen McFarlin has been my family vet for over two decades. White's Pet Hospital office manager, Maryann, and Dr. Andrea Reid severed that relationship. My 1st and only meeting with Dr. Reid was yesterday, September 12, 2024, when I brought my 9 1/2 year old Goldendoodle, Leroy, in with an inflamed paw and swollen lymph gland behind his knee. I called White's on Wednesday, September 11 to schedule an appointment with Dr. McFarlin, but she wasn't in until Friday and was bo... read more

We are long time customers with both dogs and cats over the years. Sorry to see their service go downhill. When you have a very sick pet and you think for sure your vet will be there for you they might not be. They have become so busy that they won't budge for emergencies. I am so disgusted! See ya!

Business response:

We're concerned to hear about your experience. Please feel free to reach out to us at (805) 966-1604 to discuss this further.

I've been a customer for 12 years and today I received the worst care and customer service by Noreen from this facility. I called for my chihuahua and she was not concerned at all for myself and my pet. Noreen was huffing and puffing on the phone and saying "oh my god" as she said patients walked in the door. I mentioned to her if she was doing that towards me? As she was making me feel uncomfortable. advised her I was able to hear her and asked to speak to someone else in the facility and said she was only person in facil... read more

Business response:

We apologize for the negative experience you had with Noreen at White's Pet Hospital. We take customer service seriously and will address this issue immediately.

I have been going to Whites Vets for over 20 years so it really saddens me to write this review. But I feel it is important because I do not want what happened to me to happen to anyone else and their pets. I brought in my 4 year old dog because he had not been eating and was very lethargic. The doctor did an x-ray and said he had eaten a ball and it was stuck in his stomach or intestines. I am not sure why but she sent me to VCA Care to have it scoped rather then remove it herself. $3200 later, the VCA doctor told me t... read more

Business response:

The most important criteria for the delivery of veterinary care from doctors and their associated veterinary health care team is an effective, respectful, professional and trusting relationship. From the recent interactions that you have had with us we have concluded that this criteria was not being met. It is unfortunate that our relationship has deteriorated to this point. However, we really do wish for you to be happy and work with another veterinary practice that may better suit your needs.

This business used to be doctor owned, but they sold to a company a few years ago. Service by the staff has severely suffered and is sorely lacking. Many prescription drug mistakes, major mistakes. The owners turn a deaf ear on any complaints; they don't seem to care. The Vets are superb, but they now work for a lousy company. We said "buh-bye".

They try. Vets are great but front desk clerks handle people like they are handling"hams." They are too busy to communicate with each other.

Business response:

Hi Sharon, sorry to hear you were not satisfied with your pet's visit. Our team aims to provide the highest quality of care to your furry friend and are saddened that you felt otherwise. I would like to discuss your concerns in detail, please call me at your convenience 805-966-1604. Thank you, Devon, Hospital Manager

My kitty has been sick the last two days and my sister in law referred me to St Francis. I took him in there today and they said they only take one walk in a day. I asked if they would please make an exception and she said no. They referred me to White's Pet Hospital. So I drove over there and she wouldn't take a look at my kitty either, said I needed an appt which I thought was a bit strange because I've never had to make an appt when I go to the hospital. Maybe they should change their name to White's Pet CLINIC, so then p... read more

Business response:

Mica, We are truly sorry your kitty has been sick and hope you found appropriate veterinary care for him. Our facility is named "hospital" because we provide medical and surgical veterinary care, we do not claim to be or function as a walk-in clinic or emergency facility. Should your kitty ever be in need of urgent care there are two wonderful veterinary emergency centers in Santa Barbara we recommend: CARE 805-899-2273 and AVS 805-729-4460. Thank you for taking the time to leave a review which allows us to further clarify t... read more

I have been taking my dogs to White's Pet Hospital for 10 years but will not longer use them for the following reason. In September 2018, I had brought my 9 year old Bishon Frise in because he had a lump on the back of his leg. The vet (Dr. LeFabre) recommended that it be aspirated and was told after the test that it was lymphoma. She recommended that the lump be removed to have it biopsied and to see if the cancer had spread. At the same time, they asked if they could clean his teeth since it was common to do this under... read more
