American home shield is a good supplementary insurance if you don’t have a lot of money to fix your home, however, they do put a bandade on the problem if they can. That’s ok for some of us that just can’t afford new appliances every time they go out. They are very responsive though in fixing your problem.

I used AHS' website to create a service request. The transition was quick and smooth - The assigned service provider (United Garage Doors Inc.) was also promptly responding and contacting me for resolution, and didn't mind putting extra effort to take care of my trouble as early as possible. I have had nothing but positive experiences with AHS. I recently requested service on my washer and they sent out 2 different contractor companies who were not able to fix the issue. These contractors told AHS the fix was something not covered by my warranty and therefore they would not work on the issue. I reached out to AHS with photos and an explanation of how I didn't feel the contractors knew the real issue. I am with HSA . As I understand it HSA is a subsidiary of American Home Shield and if not so be it. I am very satisfied with the cost, coverage and customer service provided by HSA.

Some major things are not covered, like my foundation, adding electrical circuits so the air conditioner and refrigerator can run at the same time, windows that are unable to open or close, etc
