Love the location of the building! In the heart of Hillcrest and minutes away from the hospital. The facility has a lovely outdoor space where families are able to bring their fur babies! They even have yoga for residents as an activity! Staff is very welcoming and friendly Let alone nursing team is amazing and very helpful. Would definitely recommend for a place of healing.

I used this place for my mother for rehabilitation on her knee after a fall and skin graft. They took excellent care of her. They made sure her needs were met and they were very good with communicating to me with any issues. She was on a special diet and they were able to accommodate that menu. When an emergency came up they promptly called 911 to get an ambulance to get her to hospital. I talked with the social workers and they were helpful and knowledgeable.

Very good place to go for Rehabilitation. Friendly, smiling, supportive staff. My husband spent 12 days there and I can honestly say each day we were visiting we were greeted with smiles and support. Our questions were always directed to the right person to answer. The Physical Therapy and Occupational therapy was done with great care and encouragement. If you need to go to skilled nursing and rehab, this is the place to go. The majority of staff are excellent; the daytime charge nurse Oscar often made me laugh without even realizing. A huge thank you to Rita, who was always on top of her game and I always looked forward to seeing her! They have a hard-working and compassionate gem in her and I hope they realize that. Never thought I'd be Yelping SNFs. After a fall and hospital stay, my MomMa came here. It was all good. I was totally happy, but was told by a trusted source to move my sweet Ma to another SNF. BIG MISTAKE!!! But, if you look on Yelp reviews, nearly all SNFs have reverse Bell Curve reviews...People love them or hate them. So, I would recommend The Balboa based on our experience. Good luck to you all. It is not a fun journey.

My mother was a patient at Balboa and she was very happy there! She has been there before and when she had to go back to a place for rehab - she insisted on going back to Balboa! We Love the nursing staff and the Office staff, they have great customer service and really care about their patients.

My Mother has been here for 3 weeks & her care has been friendly,professional & caring. Every staff member I've encountered has been pleasant helpful. I want to give a special thank you to Rita Gates an especially caring nurse. Knowing she is in good hands is one less stressor when dealing with the care of elderly parents.
