My neighbor moved here over two years ago and she loves this place, when she first arrived she was in poor health and didn't speak too much but over the course of time and the care she has received while living there, she has become healthier and more active and engages in conversation much more then she did before. She loves the staff here and remembers their names and is so appreciative of their sincere concern for her as a person rather than just a patient. The nurses don't really do much they go I'll grab a CNA... So That's annoying .... It doesn't smell like other places which is good. It's just heartbreaking leaving my gram here. It's one of the better nursing homes I've visited. They listen to us and her

June 2 I was omitted to Mercy Hospital for extensive foot surgery for 3 days, and then off to Balboa Skilled Nursing for 10 days. I cannot express enough gratitude to all the staff! I would be naming everyone! My care was 5 STAR PLUS from everyone at Balboa. I will always look back with fond memories and much appreciation. All the staff are assets to Balboa skilled Nursing and Rehab Center. All the best, Mary Cady

Came here to visit a friend of mine who was staying here so I can only comment from a visitor's point of view. I thought the place was nice, modern (looked like the rooms were furnished out of Pottery Barn vs. really old stuff). The staff was friendly and attentive when we needed something from them. The place didn't smell too much like an old person's home and they were always cleaning the wooden floors and rooms it seemed. The staff there work damn hard so next time you're in there, say thank you to them.

I left Balboa yesterday after a very successful stay. The therapists really concentrated on my medical issues and worked hard to make them better. The ENTIRE staff beginning with Josh the administrator to Martha who kept my room tidy were always so pleasant and helpful. No one was ever without a cheery smile and requests were handled promptly. My Uncle was in Balboa Nursing center the month of July and asked me to write a review for him. He was impressed with the service he received and thought everyone was great and treated him well. He generally is not easy to please, so this meant a lot to him and our family that he was well taken care of.

Our Mother was cared for by this facility for over 6 years, she received the best care, wonderful staff, hard working. Open lines of communication. She just passed away last month and this is part of what was read at her memorial services - "Even though people around us say how sad to be living in a nursing home all those years, she was happy, smiling...and she was a part of our daily lives and we saw how she toughed the lives of others while at Balboa.
