Refinancing a mortgage should not be as difficult and time consuming as Better Mortgage has made the process. My closing agent was in no way helpful and did not listen to my requests. I only wanted a loan that would cover our payoff and closing costs. I never asked for money back and told her on two occasions that I did not want to take out a higher loan amount. She did not listen and sent out loan documents to the notary with the higher amount. I had to cancel our signing so that the paperwork could be corrected. One of man... read more

Had a great experience on a refi with Better.com. Rate lock with the lowest rate from bankrate on March 8, signed closing papers with mobile notary on March 25. No going back for more papers, no re-submissions. They skipped some of the nonsense that a competing refi company put me through (e.g. other guy demanded a paper from my HOA, but I don't have and HOA and they couldn't just believe me). SCAM ALERT! These people will have you "lock in" at a very competitive rate, but as you approach closing they will come up with reasons why that rate is no longer valid. They told me my rate wasn't valid anymore because my house "appraised too high". How can your rate go down when your house is worth even more? Hint - it can't, and the original rate was never real. Classic bait and switch. Avoid avoid avoid!

Better.com was excellent. I got great rates but also had a seamless experience with their website and their people. They did a fantastic job all around. Very customer focused.

I appreciate Better.com for their assistance with awesome refinance service for our home in California. Even though it probably is a busy season, I was able to speak with most of the reps over the phone whenever I had a question and received prompt assistance throughout the process. It can be stressful switching mortgage companies and not being sure if everything will work out at the end but I am grateful of the good experience and final result. Everything was online with seamless experience, website is user friendly, replies to email requests are quick and I was informed all thru the process with no delays. Highly recommend. Importantly better.com offered good rates.
