Better.com deserves zero rating. I would avoid them like a plague. It's a garbage mortgage broker. So take my advice, look for a different mortgage company that gives you peace of mind. After I closed my mortgage refinance with them everything pretty much went downhill. They don't know my loan number. They sent me numerous loan numbers that were incorrect. They link you with TMS money source and before you can pay your mortgage, they ship you off to another company but provide a wrong loan number so you don't know who your r... read more

Worst company I have ever worked with. I applied for a loan and got a loan estimate - the numbers on the debts were incorrect. I called in for them to adjust them so I can have the correct pre-qualification amount. Its been three weeks and overtime I call they just say "I will note your file and someone will get back with you" No one gets back with you. Better not waste your time.

Absolutely the worst experience of my life. Submitted documents several times; was told inaccurate information numerous times - say one thing do another. The purpose of the refinance was to pay off two (2) just two credit cards. Closing agent short paid one credit card by hundreds of dollars and over paid the other. Avoid Better.com Mortgage Broker like the plague! I have a 740-800 credit score and after submitting ALL required documentation and having to upload some docs four to six times therefore wasting three weeks time before taking required documentation only to finally receive dialogue via text from the person managing my file. I have recently concluded my refinance with Better.com and the good stops there. The promise of better.com is an online platform offering an efficient smooth process to completing a home loan. That was not the experience I received. Like many big companies, Better.com apparently has people in different departments who simply don't communicate which resulted in requests being made by the company from me multiple times on several different items. I did a lot of research and chose better.com for my mortgage company for a home purchase. Along each step of the way, you are passed over to another clerk, and I found inconsistencies with the information from one clerk to another. Ultimately a few weeks prior to closing, my online dashboard showed better.com was having technical difficulties on their end and assured that it would be fixed in a timely manner. We were excited at the prospect of working with a company that was so highly reviewed. First time homebuyers, not a ton for downpayment, but we got a preapproval that was really great. I can't imagine a refinance going more seamlessly. Everything was straightforward, and the Better people seem to genuinely care that the customer has an excellent experience. We closed a week ago, and everything has gone splendidly thus far.
