I used better.com to refinance my mortgage on my primary residence. They have a business model that has been a long time coming to this industry. Their website is easy to navigate and the online communication is concise, quick, and convenient. Not to mention that their rates were also the lowest (a function of the business model with less overhead, I'm sure). I have no complaints and am thrilled with the service and process.
I highly recommend Better.com for all you're financing needs. We applied December 24th 2020, closed January 23rd 2021, and our loan was funded today January 28th 2021 on a refinance. Best rates with zero money in except the appraisal fee. Great communication and everyone was very knowledgeable in their jobs and a pleasure to work with. Thank you for everything.

First off, they trap you into committing to the loan by saying you need to pay the appraisal fee to lock in the rate. Of course, they don’t use words like that but it’s clearly directed that way. Then, the appraisal is completed within the next couple of days so you are less likely to back out. The appraisal was the most subpar appraisal ever. Had a great experience with doing a refi with better mortgage. Got a great rate too with no cost for the loan. Loved their task assignment feature of the site. But overall their procedure is not designed for high net worth individuals. Rate lock and terms and loan conditions were changed at the time of closing.
Every aspect of my experience with Better.com has been positive so far. From the day I filled out the application, I received a phone call within 24 hours from a customer service rep. My loan consultant, processing expert, and closing expert were very responsive. Answering my emails timely. At times within a few minutes. They walked me through locking at a low fixed rate.
