I have financed about 6 properties so far with big banks (*** etc.) and even with a 810 credit score the loan process with Better.com was hands down the worst.The rates might be lower but the overall application process is painful. Hundreds of tasks are automatically generated with a lot being duplicates. You will be uploading unnecessary documents on a daily basis with no end in sight. Other banks have a contact person who will ask for a specific set of documents - not with Better.com. A computer software essentially comes ... read more

Overall good experience. Their process and online portal is very easy to follow and keeps everything organized and on track for you, not mention their rates were extremelly attractive. Communication was great and getting in touch with someone was never an issue either by phone or email. Very courteous staff. The only reason I did not rate them at a full 5 stars was the inconsistency in the info. on the closing documents and me having to explain myself and situation several times even though I uploaded the appropriate documen... read more

We had a great experience. We started shopping for a rate a bit early. This was for a new construction home. Better had the best rate and we were able to lock it for 75 days. None of the other lenders was able to do the same. The communication was top notch and we were able to close on the scheduled date without any problems.

It was a truly great experience! The response was immediate - even on a weekend - and the follow-up was excellent! Everyone throughout the process was just so nice, professional, and helpful. You couldn't help but feel comfortable. I was kept informed throughout the process. The documents were well laid out and easy to fill out. Overall process was easy, with some minor issues on the way. + Easy and intuitive "tasks" system, everything is online, always accessible. + Best rates I could find for my mortgage + Refinancing was closed in 4-5 weeks +/- Rates were changing all the time - I came from bankrate.com with one number, once registered and provided all my details numbers changed and I had to call the mortgage expert. During this pandemic, on-line refi is definitely the only way to go. Although I was skeptical because of the possibility of fraud in online companies like this, after extensive checking of reviews and recommendations I moved ahead with Better Mortgage, and they offered a very good rate and package. I am very glad I did. The process went quite smoothly and on the schedule that we agreed to at the beginning. Excellent customer service from NY office mortgage expert and processing team. However, the CA-based closing expert ghosted us during our closing which led to a lot of confusion and frustration. Took 6 days after meeting with the notary (who did not show up until 4 hours after our scheduled appointment due to lack of communication from closing exper) to finally receive an update from him.
