We have always turned to the Brooklyn Diner on 43rd St as a great pre-theatre. We went the other night, and the pizza's were gone from the menu, and the cost of the dishes had increased to a point where it just didn't seem worth it any more. Feels like they need to take 'Diner' out of the name of the place.
Excellent food and service! We enjoyed all. We had the chicken soup, pigs in a blanket and sausage meatloaf. All of these were great. The coffee and rugalawere amazing!
Very much enjoyed the visit as we eat in NYC often. Only complaint was the pricing. $27 for a Pastrami sandwich (and not a mile high version)!! I guess if you want to eat near times square, you pay the price...
As always a great place for pre-theatre, good solid diner fare. The Brooklyn Diner is never a disappointment...always reliable!
Good food, good service and got us out to the theater on time.
On a cold winter day it was an easy walk from my stay at the marriot marquis a block and a half away. The temperature was 6 degrees so I ordered the homemade organic chicken soup which was very good but for $12.00?? And soggy challah bread? Paying for their high rent. But the service is great , the ambience nice and the food above average so I recommend it.
while the food and the service were great, the price for dinner for two was quite high I thought. My daughter had a pasta dish and I had the meatloaf-she had lemonade and I had an ice tea-that was it and the bill for the two of us was $66.00 before tip! Not sure I would venture there again.
Great food! Great service! Always fun to dine with you.
Well, I'm from Brooklyn and real Brooklyn diners aren't trying to be this 'upscale.' Food is just ok, but portions are large. If a family or tourists are looking for someplace to grab a meal, this is a good choice. For someone wanting 'real' comfort food, it's kind of like Times Square itself, overdone and artificial, but still fun to visit once in a while.
