We went to the 57th street location for breakfast and the host greeted us like old friends the waiter was upbeat and friendly and the whole ststaffas happy at 8:30 am. The food was good diner food with clearly good ingredients. It was a great way to start the day.
I have been to the Brooklyn Diner many times, and find it to be consistently excellent. The staff are pleasant and efficient, the food comes in large portions and is always terrific. It is a calm haven in the bustling Times Square area.
This place has an upscale feel that makes you feel comfortable and at home. The homemade food such as the chicken pot pie and meatloaf are absolutely awesome! The service was fantastic and the drinks and dessert were also good and the location in Times Square made it ideal for before or after shopping/sightseeing. I would recommend making a reservation if you're heading into that area.
Convenient. That's about it. Not great food, but OK. Too busy for good service. And frankly prices that you would be better off paying in a genuinely better restaurant that would require a slightly longer walk. ($22 for basic pasta and meatballs could get you something really tasty at any decent Italian restaurant in the area) There was a surprising lack of some diner basics (like Chicken Fingers of all things) So if you need to minimize walking over everything, then go for it, certainly decent. But if you can walk an extra ... read more
Food was no more the average. The famed pastrami sandwich was good but no where famous. Wine selection practically nonexistent.
We went to The Brooklyn Diner Times Square on a Sunday prior to a Theater matinee. The location was perfect. We had a reservation for 8 and were taken reasonably quickly but put at a space that really was only good for 7. The maitre d' , however, recognized the limitations and said he would add the table for two as soon as the bill was paid. Once that happened, we were fine. I felt the restaurant handled the situation very well. I had thought at 11:30am on a Sunday that we would have a choice of Breakfast or Lunch but they w... read more
We went for a late breakfast, and we're so glad we did. I loved my Vernon Brown omelette. A master chef in the kitchen for sure. No not a diner but a lovely place to get world class diner food. We were impressed with the service as well.
This was a wonderful day out with the girls. We had lunch a show and dinner out. The first stop was for lunch at the Brooklyn Diner. We shared three main lunches and had a great time. The food was hot as it should be and served quickly and in a friendly manner. We'd recommend it.
A beautiful, white tablecloth deli. unfrotnately, food is mediocre and prices are high. $24 pastramie sandwich. great location in Broadway area.
