On a cold winter day it was an easy walk from my stay at the marriot marquis a block and a half away. The temperature was 6 degrees so I ordered the homemade organic chicken soup which was very good but for $12.00?? And soggy challah bread? Paying for their high rent. But the service is great , the ambience nice and the food above average so I recommend it.

while the food and the service were great, the price for dinner for two was quite high I thought. My daughter had a pasta dish and I had the meatloaf-she had lemonade and I had an ice tea-that was it and the bill for the two of us was $66.00 before tip! Not sure I would venture there again.

Well, I'm from Brooklyn and real Brooklyn diners aren't trying to be this 'upscale.' Food is just ok, but portions are large. If a family or tourists are looking for someplace to grab a meal, this is a good choice. For someone wanting 'real' comfort food, it's kind of like Times Square itself, overdone and artificial, but still fun to visit once in a while.

Josh was a great waiter! Food is a bit expensive, but service was excellent.

I already knew that the Brooklyn Diner was not really what any NY or LI person would consider a diner. We walked in early for a 12:00 Noon reservation (11:40) and were told we couldn't have breakfast. Not too worry there were plenty of delicious things on the menu. Our waiter was very, very slow....and it didn't seem all that busy. He didn't get to our table to ask if we wanted drinks, coffee, water, etc for a good 20 minutes. My friend had the cob salad, which she said was very good. My husband and I were glad we were there... read more

Food was ok, service not so great. Things were missing from my dinner and when I asked, the server told me I was wrong. Almost got up and grabbed a menu, but decided that my lack of a return trip will be enough.

Food was good. The Pot Pie and Pastrami was especially delicious. Waiter was very friendly and courteous. You just have to pay attention to what your meal is supposed to come with because the food preppers tend to miss items.
