We went to the Brooklyn Dinner in Times Square for brunch before a Saturday matinee. Our reservation was for noon. In NYC where brunch is served almost everywhere until 2pm on the weekend, we expected to order brunch. We were handed a lunch menu and told that brunch was served until 11:00 and that you really have to be seated and order by 10:30. That is not brunch - that's breakfast. So don't say you serve brunch! We were disappointed because that is what we wanted to order. We had chicken soup (good) and their world famous ... read more
We had an enjoyable time here with delicious food. There were 8 of us (6 adults and 2 children under age 10) and it was a lively atmosphere. We found the restaurant on Open Table when we were at NYC during an incredibly busy Xmas shopping weekend. It was a perfect place to stop and enjoy good food, right next to Times Square, before heading home.
We had a reservation for 6 pm on a Saturday evening. We were welcomed and ushered to stand at a crowded area on the right side of the restaurant. Every December when we visit New York, we always go to the Brooklyn Diner for brunch on our last morning before departing for home. Love their food, prime Times Square location.
really liked the brooklyn diner... the baked macaroni and cheese was fabulous... the chicken noodle soup was really good... we had a slight issue with all of our order not coming out together.. we ordered 2 items off the appetizer menu and then also ordered a hamburger... the waiter thought we would want the appetizers first but those appetizer items were my lunch... the waiters should be taught to ask whether the order should come out together or at different times... it also took too long for a waiter to come to the table ... read more
We were expecting a more diner type environment since the name implies it. Well, it was nothing like a diner. Great selection of food and drinks. Not outrageously priced either. The staff was very friendly as well. We loved eating here and will probably do it again.
Food always comforting but above all on this recent visit every employee from front desk to waitstaff very welcoming and gentleman at front so charming !
