Very much enjoyed the visit as we eat in NYC often. Only complaint was the pricing. $27 for a Pastrami sandwich (and not a mile high version)!! I guess if you want to eat near times square, you pay the price...
As always a great place for pre-theatre, good solid diner fare. The Brooklyn Diner is never a disappointment...always reliable!
Good food, good service and got us out to the theater on time.
On a cold winter day it was an easy walk from my stay at the marriot marquis a block and a half away. The temperature was 6 degrees so I ordered the homemade organic chicken soup which was very good but for $12.00?? And soggy challah bread? Paying for their high rent. But the service is great , the ambience nice and the food above average so I recommend it.
while the food and the service were great, the price for dinner for two was quite high I thought. My daughter had a pasta dish and I had the meatloaf-she had lemonade and I had an ice tea-that was it and the bill for the two of us was $66.00 before tip! Not sure I would venture there again.
Great food! Great service! Always fun to dine with you.
Well, I'm from Brooklyn and real Brooklyn diners aren't trying to be this 'upscale.' Food is just ok, but portions are large. If a family or tourists are looking for someplace to grab a meal, this is a good choice. For someone wanting 'real' comfort food, it's kind of like Times Square itself, overdone and artificial, but still fun to visit once in a while.
Josh was a great waiter! Food is a bit expensive, but service was excellent.
I already knew that the Brooklyn Diner was not really what any NY or LI person would consider a diner. We walked in early for a 12:00 Noon reservation (11:40) and were told we couldn't have breakfast. Not too worry there were plenty of delicious things on the menu. Our waiter was very, very slow....and it didn't seem all that busy. He didn't get to our table to ask if we wanted drinks, coffee, water, etc for a good 20 minutes. My friend had the cob salad, which she said was very good. My husband and I were glad we were there... read more
