It took them an hour to get us our food...Every person's order was incorrect...The food was warm at best...As The Donald says, it was a HUGE disappointment...no compensation was offered...
To open table, we would suggest you remove the Brooklyn diner Times Square from your list. There was not one positive thing I could say except that one of the hostesses did ask me if my second salad was okay when I was on my way to the ladies room. Our waiter was the worst ever. We eat out often and I take my granddaughter to a show twice a year. I was so upset that this was the experience she had. We actually told two people looking at the menu to go somewhere else (we recommended serafina) and they were so thankful. I coul... read more
We have never left a restaurant without tipping. Even for really bad service we still tip 15%. Our waiter was so bad on 9/7 that we actually left without leaving any tip at all. It took us 45 minutes to get a Latte and a Coke. Our food actually arrived at our table before the Latte. When we inquired about the Latte the waiter said 'Sir, your drink takes time' like 45 minutes wasn't sufficient time. We waited patiently after eating for our check....no check....so we asked for it...waiter said it was coming.....then proceeded ... read more
I love the Brooklyn Diner but it is not kid friendly. The portions are gigantic and too expensive. We weren't happy that we couldn't order breakfast at noon on a Sunday.
Upon arrival seated promptly and the staff friendly. However once things started to pick up the person running the front seemed overwhelmed. The chicken dish I had ordered was over cooked to the point of being dry and border line burnt. Really a shame since I did enjoy the location itself.
I was unimpressed by the fact that there was no kids menu to choose from at all. The server, who was very nice, suggested a side of mac n cheese or an appetizer pigs in a blanket. Neither were ideal. The only hot dog on the menu is the $20 gigantic one. The food overall was good but nothing to come back for, and very overpriced (though expected that in Times Square).
Actually, waiters and hostess were accomodating and nice - however, didn't see anything on the menu that appealed to us, so we left.
What respectable diner doesn't serve breakfast all day? Or at least through lunch? The Brooklyn Diner Time Square. Yah, they don't. Even if you show up when breakfast is ending, they are not willing to even let you put in your order. So enjoy watching everyone else eat their pancakes and omelettes while you choke down a turkey sandwich or other horrid lunch item. Wish they would not call themselves a diner so they don't get folks hopes up.
Staff is welcoming and enthusiastic each time I come to the restaurant. Surprisingly, at this visit, several menus items that my party and I requested were not available. The salmon entree was delicious. The corned beef sandwich was sparse, almost embarrassing. I will return because all was good during the previous visits.
