Get directionsBeen going to Calusa for years. The entire staff is amazing. They truly care about your animals and are conservative with care, which is so important to me. Can't say enough good things about them!
We had our new rescue dog in for a wellness check. With the testing & panels the bill was about $700 with a 2 week follow up for wax buildup in her ears. At that time we were told the follow up is $70 for the ear exam. At check out the bill was close to $170 including a medical exam and another follow up scheduled. I questioned the front desk the response was it's their policy to have a doctor exam with each visit. I must have upset the receptionist as she put the paid bill on the counter, got up and walked away. I left bu... read more
I came to Calusa because it was recommended to me. The staff and doctors were very nice but not very helpful. The front desk ladies were very sweet but with the doctor she didn't seem to know what she was talking about. They ran tests on my cat and told me that her sodium was so high that it didn't even give them a number. They told me she would have to stay there for a couple of days and the bill was very expensive. I went to another vet to give me a second opinion and they ran tests again and everything came back clear. Th... read more
"Appointments only" what if it's an emergency? what if a pet is about to DIE? well, my pet was about to die and you know what? it was inflammation and they thought it was cancer, i don't know how dumb they were but it was very bad, DONT COME! my dog is dead now, died YESTERDAY. also looks like a bad place from the pictures already, my mom and my sister went when the inflammation started leaking, and they said they "didn't notice" hell you mean you didn't notice? it was RIGHT THERE.
Meh, stick with absolute emergencies only and not for regular vet visits or smaller things like a cold or flu To be charged $98 for a 5 min "doctor consultation" to literally be outside in the patio area and not have your pet's weight checked or vitals taken is plain outrageous! Attached is a photo for context My little dog had a cold, and I came in with him. I was literally escorted outside in the patio area in the heat where some patients hang out waiting for their ride or whatever. I had to ask for a lady to move her... read more

My dog was in respiratory distress and they treated me and my pet like absolute garage. Said he was in good condition for a 14 yrs old no fluid no heart issues etc but wanted me to spend 1400 on test. When I took him to another vet it was the total opposite and said my dog would have died if I agreed for them to do the procedures on him. He did have fluid around his heart and lung and needed to be put down. So Calusa made my dog suffer!!! Heartbroken!
I go to another vet in Boca for my Dogs regular care . i did not have any issues with your vets or services .when i have used them . i wanted to board my dogs at daycare facilities but i have to pay for exams with your vets . i feel it's unnecessary. Some folks feel your poaching customers this way and i have to agree . All other boarding only requires proof of vaccinations not an exam at facilities.

I am thoroughly disappointed with this practice. One department doesn't coordinate with the other. We were told to do an echocardiogram ( through U of F)and then the doctor never followed up Dr Dermott was nice enough but did not follow up with me. Pretty sure that's what caused my dog to fail. When we came to emergency in the middle of the night DR JOHNSON was an absolute nightmare as well as the nurse. My dog needed to be put in the oxygen tank and was totally unstable however all she cared about was getting us an estim... read more
