I got the call from somebody who said they were from Frontier Communications and would offer me a discounted rate if I switched to Clear Rate. I agreed to switch then found out they were not with Frontier and were in fact from Clear Rate. Within 12 hours I got one of their representatives on the phone and told them to cancel as Michigan has a 3 day right to rescind any contract. They switched me anyway. Notified the State Attorney General that it was apparently a bait and switch. Still within 24 hours. I will sue these folks... read more
They slammed my receptionist and changed my phone service without my permission. Charged me $114 just to dump them.
Clear Rate Communications is a horrible scam and should not be allowed to do business. This company basically stole one of my phone numbers and started billing me. They never came into my home and I never gave them permission to use my number. I paid them just to get ride of them. They continued billing me after the service was canceled. They then disconnected my number which caused me to lose customers and money. A big scam don’t even talk them on the phone just do yourself a favor and hang up when they call.
If I could give ZERO stars I would. These jerks called my elderly grandmother and convinced her to switch to them unbeknownst to me. (I help her keep track of her bills because she is forgetful.) As a result her bill did not get paid and they shut off her phone. I spent the entire day trying to unravel the mess. I went ahead and let her stay with them since she liked the price and I made her an account and set her up on Auto Pay. Called saying they were a partner with CenturyLink and could reduce my phone bill. Got skeptical and found this site. Dodged a a bullet for sure. Called CenturyLink and they are NOT a partner with Clear Rate.
Clear rate is a TERRIBLE COMPANY! my internet went down after 9 days of it not working and them giving excuses I hired a tech guy who came in and told them how to fix my internet from their end. NOW I am 3 days without a phone the one thing they claim they are good at and having to call constantly madeit every hour on the hour with my cell phone still no working phones! BUT WAIT IT GETS BETTER! The robo calling telemarketers can call into my business but my customers cant!!! and THEY DONT KNOW WHY
They called us and said they could save us money on our phone and internet service but when they came out there internet speed was only 6m and we have 40 nowand that they would have to add a second line for the phone we were told by the tech that came out it was not a good service provider and to cancel service with them. So we called them and was told they can not cancel service because the tech was scheduled and already here and left and did nothing the tech took the equipment and left.
Customer service is useless. I signed up with them. Every promise they made has been broken. Since the switch my internet service has never been up. All calls into service get a different story and three promises of a manager calling me back have resulted in zero calls back to me. Do not use this service!!!!
I have a real estate business and my current provider is CenturyLink. I received a call from a gal on 1/5/20201 and I thought she was CenturyLink offering to reduce my rates. She was actually with Clear Rate. I agreed. I then received a 2nd call to confirm that I was the person and charge and able to authorize the change.
