We were scammed into switching services to Clear Rate from Century Link. The caller said they were calling on behalf of Century Link notifying us that the purchase between Lumin and Century Link has caused a change in our future billing. Nothing would change with our service or rates, just the billing would come through Clear Rate now. They were slick with their wording. It took a couple weeks to get switched back correctly. They were very misleading during their call and this incurred additional expenses for our business.

I wish I could give a lower rate for these scam artists. They called our company several months ago. Spoke to a woman who is not authorized to make changes and told her that they were taking over the billing for Century Link because of a current lawsuit. Nothing would change because they are a part of Century Link but the **** would be going to them now. They made our employee think they did not have a choice. My elderly father just cancelled his phone service with Clear Rate this morning. His phone would not work after every time it would rain. They would supposedly send out a serviceperson when we would call customer service but we would never see any such person. The phone would start working again after dry weather. This has happened for years. They never offered to take anything off his monthly ****. DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!

I was scammed by Clear Rate. I was told that they had taken over the "billing" for Century link due to a class action suit. I run a business from my home. When they took over the phone line the call quality dropped, I lost my voice mail. I was never told that any of things would happen. I was additionally told I didn't have a choice. Misrepresenting yourselves as the local provider to scam people into switching is fraud. I just spent 45 minutes on the phone trying to fix this garbage when it was done to our church. Educate Clear rates sales team and let them know that saying you represent another company to get a sale is fraud.
I was misled into switching my phone service over to Clear Rate Communications. I was told that Century Link was switching to a Reduced Small Business rate plan called Clear Rate. Someone would call me about this new Clear Rate plan that would eliminate all of the "extra" charges and simply put it all into one new lower rate and all my services would stay the same. The caller, named *****, identified herself as an employee of the Centurylink small business customer service to offer me a reduced rate due to Centurylink having been found guilty of fraud in not identifying Lumen and not clearly articulating the effective rates. As a result, she, for Centurylink, was offering me a better wholesale rate, but i would need to answer some yes or no questions and agree to sign up for a year.
