I have a real estate business and my current provider is CenturyLink. I received a call from a gal on 1/5/20201 and I thought she was CenturyLink offering to reduce my rates. She was actually with Clear Rate. I agreed. I then received a 2nd call to confirm that I was the person and charge and able to authorize the change. The 2nd call is when I realized the 1st call was not from CenturyLink. I told the 2nd gal that I needed to verify with CenturyLink before proceeding and that I wanted to cancel my order. Clear Rate Communications preys on older people with landlines. My Mother is 84 years old with dementia and they somehow switched her over to their service at three times the rate she had with Century Link. No paperwork, no emails and they turned off her phone because she didn't realize they were her carrier and never got a bill from them! Clear Link put my Mother in danger by shutting off her phone service. DO NOT use this company. If I could give them MINUS five stars I would. They should be fined and put out of business.

Clear Rate is the worst company I have ever had experience with. They started billing my older brother (who is starting to have alzhimers) for telephone services when he was with a totally different company. Spent many phone calls (cumultively about 2 hours) on the phone with them to get it sorted out, but to no avail. I think it some sort of scam praying on old people.

Do not, I repeat do not use this service. They never hooked our Internet up properly so we didn’t have it for a month while getting charged. We went to switch back to Century Link and they were holding our phone number hostage until we payed the bill. After about two months and over 30 hours on the phone trying to get this resolved Century Link finally got our Internet hooked up properly. We have used clear rate at one of our businesses for years. We were at the end of our contract and was decided to shift to a month to month due to covid and not sure whether offices would remain open, and also we wanted to implement a voip system. We requested a month-to-month change to our contract, which was accepted by our sales rep. Suddenly our rates changed by 200% with NO NOTIFICATION!!! My elderly fathers phone was switched to this company via a phone call. No paperwork, email or any information he didn't even know the name of the company. I'm his POA. It's misleading to say this company is an A+ when tactics like this are used to increase their customer numbers.
Received a phone call today and the Rep was so rude! She was basically yelling at me on why wouldn't I want to save money. I asked for her phone number to call her back after I looked into the company and she continued to talk over me. I told her how rude she was being and she hung up on me. I don't know how this company can be an A+ company when they are deceptive and rude.
ClearRate is by far the worst telephone and internet provider we’ve ever had. If I could rate it as zero stars I would. The service itself is horrible and the customer service is even worse. Worst company ever! 1 week ago I called about my mother’s phone which gives her a busy signal when she picks it up to make a call. Anyone calling her number, it goes straight to a message which says Unavailable, which is not my mother’s voice.
