Scammed by Clear Rate. A woman called me saying she was from Frontier and offering a lower rate because Frontier had lost 30% of their customers. She said the only thing that would change would be our rate and everything would stay the same, that Frontier was still our provider. Nothing but scammers! When I was new to my company they told me they're taking over for CentryLink due to a lawsuit and there's nothing I can do about it. The cost is sickening and they took advantage of us. When I asked to port back to CentryLink, Clear Rate they told me there's nothing they can do once they take over. Convenient they would do this to a nursing home. Disturbing! I would get them 0 stars if I could.
I was also with Centurylink, the phone is in my name. I did not give authorization to have the billing switched over. Do not know who they spoke with, but it was not me. The **** is not cheaper, I'm paying double what I was paying before. How is this legal? How do they take over a phone **** as a third party with out my consent?
Clear Rate are crooks! They lied and told us we had to change phone companies.
Just got a phone call - very realistic sounding - from someone telling me that they were with Century Link and that I needed to update with a new 12 month contract to save 22% off my current ****. It sounded very legitimate and I'm sure MANY busy business people will be duped by this. I too have been scammed by Clear Rate. I was told that they had taken over the "billing" for Century link due to a class action suit. When they took over the phone line the call quality dropped, I lost my voice mail. I was never told that any of things would happen. I was additionally told I didn't have a choice. I am on the same page with this scam issue. I was under the impression that I would be staying with Centurylink just a different division of the company for small businesses. I called Centurylink about this company and they had no idea who they were or new anything about the "class action lawsuit" claims. I feel very deceived and want nothing to do with Clear Rate. A woman called me this morning, claiming to represent Clear Rate, and that my service was just going to be billed thru them from now on, that Century LInk has problems. After I balked, and said I was going to call Century Link and check this, and told her what I was paying, she hung up on me. Clear rate is clearly a scam. They call and call your business pretending to represent Century Link, offering to lower your phone ****. Once they get a hold of someone in your company and coerce them to say YES to a recorded question, then they automatically take control of your phone lines. How they get access to your account from Century Link, I do not know.
