Great experience...you actually saved both my mom and myself from a very difficult situation....5 stars out of 5. I would tell others that the facility is small enough and friendly enough to establish a community type environment. The location is also great for me, I am only 10 minutes away so that was a key factor in our decision. Also, the price was actually fair and affordable.
We toured with The Cottages of Fox Lake and the location was a bit too far away from us - it also had a hospital smell to it.
We're very pleased with The Cottages of Fox Lake. It's a very welcoming community. The staff are friendly. And they provide good healthcare to my loved one.
We had a good tour at The Cottages of Fox Lake. I liked that they offered lots of activities for the residents. But the rooms were tiny. They were just way too small. And the rooms didn't look as clean / fresh / new as we preferred.
They are all very friendly. There is a slight room for improvement with the care services, and it would be nice if they cleaned, the individual bathrooms more often. They have a ton of activiites, but my loved one does not participate. I am very happy with the care. I like the small building and cottage approach. It's a smaller number of residents, and it's more personable. It's clean , new and does not smell. I would love to see more fresh veggies, homemade foods, and more nutritional options.
The Cottages of Fox Lake is pretty expensive but it is a very nice community. From what we have heard from our loved one the meals and dining service seems to be quite good. When we do come to visit we see different activities going on for the residents and our loved one is more active then what they usually were. We really appreciate that when we make suggestions to the staff they actually listen to us and then follow through with the suggestion. Nice people and good experience for me.
We are having some issues with the housekeeping in my moms room - that is the only complaint. The people have all been great. I am happy with the staff to residents ratio. It is a darling place and the cost is in line with our budget. It is the best place for my mom and she is thrilled with all of the staff. We love the community. They were able to take care of my loved one and family. The staff were able to accommodate, and were attentive to our loved one. The communication with the community was wonderful! We were always able to get ahold of staff to answer our questions or concerns about our loved one. We would recommend the community to others for their loved ones. The younger family members were able to visit their loved one, as well. The community made sure the entire family felt welcomed.
