Very disappointing medical facility. If you are not in COMPLETE charge of your health and can's monitor your medical treatment, don't join this group. I have been getting my HIV treatment there for 1 1/2 years. I have VA insurance and the DAP can not get their act together to administer my treatment. They are the MOST dis-organized medical facility I have ever been involved with. I just contacted the VA and fired the DAP. Missed prescriptions, ordered wrong prescriptions, referrals are a joke. I have had 3 doctors sin... read more
Called twice to find out what I could about emergency housing. After coercing the first case manager who answered the phone to put me through to housing to ask questions the call went directly to voicemail. They dont like to answer phones. When I called a second time it took further coercion just to find out if anyone was actually in their office who handled housing. This is to learn about Emergency Options for housing and Emergency Options means to the policy makers that it could be whenever they choose to answer their phon... read more
I relocated from the bay area in September of 2015, I chose to seek medical care at DAP and I feel like this has been one of the worst experiences in my lifetime. First off let me say that I am a complicated case for sure with all the medical problems I have been experiencing in the past 10 years but that should not hinder just simply getting a return phone call or being able to seek medical treatment without feeling I am being judged for my life decisions. Case at hand, first off they have the worst phone/voicemail system... read more
This place is no longer interested in the care and treatment of Aids Patients. A family member of mine with Aids was denied treatment in 2013 by DAP. They claim it was some Arrowcare loophole, but it was not. They took all the required information, diagnosis, residency and income...then gave him a nice tour and a welcome packet. The day before the first Doctor visit they called and cancelled his appointment over the phone. This is their MO. They get all the information they need to seek grants and hand-out for a new cl... read more
FIRST OF ALL. . . I am grateful for an organization that offers the services DAP offers. I've been once before, and was treated very well. BUT, I am new at this. . . asking for an HIV test after ending a sordid fiery relationship that ended in heart-ache. . . but I needed to know about my HIV status. I walked into the building with a little intrepidation and finally found the reception desk. I stood there for 5 minutes, alone (I timed it), no one behind me, 18 inches from the man sitting behind the desk. He didn't even bl... read more
Business response:
Nerium - firstly, thank you so much for the feedback, truly. A lot of the issues you've brought up are issues we're committed to fixing. I can assure you that upper management - Board leadership, CEO, and managers - are devoted to improving our relationships with clients, and the customer service we provide to *everyone.* We have a full training program run by staff to get this message across, and while we'd like to think that most of our staff are getting it, the reality is we're still not at our best 100% of the time. That... read more
I moved to Palm Springs and googled ADAP--first thing that came up was Desert Aids Project. Having worked with other Aids Service Organizations in other cities I thought GREAT. Boy was I WRONG ! After waiting 2 weeks to get an appointment I gathered all the required documents as to income, insurance, lab reports, etc etc as I had done many times before. I spoke to the intake person on the phone and said I was running low on my HIV meds and needed to get my application in to continue getting the financial assistance for ... read more
The WalMart of healthcare and ASO's. As I scrolled through the previous reviews I couldn't help but notice that every MD mentioned has left this place. If your doctor leaves it will be impossible to get a new appointment. I now see a cancer doctor as a result of this organization failing to review my lab results. My first visit with the cancer doctor was an eye opener. Before I could say anything he told me my entire experience with dap. If you need an HIV doctor, Clayton Barbour at 760-676-5800 is still in Palm Spri... read more
Rude and unprofessional staff. They are judgmental and say things loud enough to each other to make patients feel ashamed to be there.
In my 30 + years dealing with AIDS this is the first time I've had to pay for services at an AIDS clinic, my disability income is less than $700 a month and they tell me Ryan White won't pay my co-pays? Are they looting the Ryan White fund? I am basically PAYING to be abused by the rude and disrespectful staff. Where does all the money go from these lavish fundraisers? I know for a fact (my gf used to work for the travel agency that booked for them) Dap pays outrageous airline ticket cost to bring in entertainers to the Stev... read more
