DAP fired probably the best doctor they have ever had--Phyllis Ritchie. In 2016 Dr. Ritchie had my husband do a CAT scan for his chest because he had been complaining about chest pains, other medical personnel dismissed it as an ulcer but Dr. Ritchie insisted on a scan. It found that he had 3rd stage lung cancer. He underwent surgery, four months of chemo, and 6 weeks of radiation treatment, but he's still here, back at work and healthy and so far cancer-free, thanks to Dr. Ritchie. Quite a SHOCK to hear of our favorite doctor's dismissal from DAP. Dr. Phyllis Ritchie has been such a wonderful physician for my parents medical care in the Palm Springs area. She is caring, intelligent and most of all, a true "old-fashioned doctor" who takes an interest in each and every one of her patients as human beings! So, it came as a huge surprise that she had been terminated from DAP! We will truly miss Dr. Ritchie. And, I can see by other reviews that we are not the only ones that feel this way!

This is the second time DAP is making me lose my doctor because they decided to fire them. I am done with them. I am now stuck with an health insurance I selected because it would cover them and my doctor, and now I am left with an insurance that does not cover a lot of other places I could go to see a doctor. Be aware!

I am extremely disappointed with DAP. I have been going there for seven years, and six of which my wonderful doctor was Dr Phyllis Ritchie. Recently I received a phone call telling me she quit due to a long commute. This didn't sound right so I called her as she generously shared her cell number with me. She explained to me DAP let her go for business reasons and a security guard walked her out. What a great loss of a caring wonderful physician. I am off to Borrego!

Wish I could give them less. I am sure they do very many good things for the desert community but charging clients $80.00 for STD testing is ridiculous. When questioned about the cost the receptionist, very nice btw, told me that because its a small community they don't get the big grants that the bigger communities get. That being said they sure have a great facility and seemingly plenty of staff. Maybe someone there needs to reprioritize their funds and make better use of the dollars they do get. Been going for years. For just HIV care they are ok but to make them your main doctor you will be disappointed. Very hard to get an appointment and communication is poor. You can leave messages with nurses and never get a call back. They run a battery of tests which to them are standard it took me the longest time to stop running testosterone and Blood for STD when you are not sexually active. I have employer insurance and feel like just a number when I come here.

I don't know where to start. The negative reviews preceding my review should be read. They are all incredibly accurate. I believe in the beginning that DAP was a model healthcare facility, however the last several years I have seen first hand the entire organization go bad. This includes the clinic,administration,and Revivals. As a retired medical imaging specialist I have seen just about everything as I worked for trauma centers to family practice offices. Last year, I called your Sunrise office and asked if there was a department that worked with children affected by HIV. Your representative told me there was no specific children's department, but he knew of several children in the east valley that would love the stuffed animals (mostly bears) I wanted to donate. hello ive been a client for 22 years ive seen a lot of wonderfull changes except why cant they hire people that already live in ca and the desert case managers and others who just move here one day and take ca job away the next ,hire local people please
