I went in for their complimentary HIV rapid test. I was checked in and waited a short time until the guy administering the test was ready for me (I forget his name but he was a volunteer). As we went through standard questions (I hate the one where they ask "how many sexual partners have you had in the last 12 months?" May as well ask how many times a day I breathe), we chit chatted and talked about the difference between taking the rapid test and blood testing. New to the desert, had the PRIVILLAGE of meeting with Dr. Hawthorn! I've been a Professional Nurse for over 20 years, this Doctor has a TERRIFIC bedside manor, was VERY professional, thorough, and compassionate!!! LOVE HIM!!!
'WHAT'S COOKIN GOOD LOOKIN?' 2nd & 4th Wednesday @ 2:00 pm A new class at the DAP taught by the one and only Ray Robertson. A great idea for a class and fun way to learn basic kitchen skills. Not sure if the class will progress into more difficult culinary techniques, but Ray always has a plan to entertain, teach, get excited, and bring those who want to spice up their hump day along for the ride. The Doctor, nurse, medical assistant, receptionist and every other person I came in contact with at DAP was so professional and friendly. This was my first Doctor visit since leaving Chicago in August and I couldn't be more impressed. Dr. Somero physically went over every inch of my body, asked the BEST questions and created a level of trust I didn't think I find after Dr. Andy in Chicago. Bravo DAP and thank you for being there for us.
dr joy hamilton is one in a million. the kindest, empathic, and skilled doctor i have EVER met! i feel lucky to have her looking after me. what a blessing she is. keep up the good work. an honorable and equal mention to lisa farmer who works with joy hamilton. these two woman are a rare breath of fresh air to medical world. thank you thank you!

This was my recent experience at DAP Health/Palm Springs. The RN I spoke with the day before submitted a request to the pharmacy to refill an existing medication prescribed by my physician. After picking up the medication I realized the milligrams the physician historically prescribed had been changed to a much smaller dose. This change in dosage was admittedly changed by the RN. When I asked this specific RN why he had changed the milligrams of the prescribed medication, he stated "it was his personal choice to change the ... read more
i like the doctor that I had at DAP however there are lots of problems with this organization.... The regular staff is rude, security is confrontational with patients and clients too. In my honest opinion, this org is very poorly managed and due to the high influx of grants, many of the employees are paid to just "look busy". Both Riverside University Health and the provider that I now utilize are significantly better.
I want to start by acknowledging the important work DAP does for the community. As a new resident and a gay man, I was eager to find a connection there. However, I've left feeling consistently overlooked and undervalued as a Latino man. While the staff at the front desk are clearly capable of being warm and engaging (I've witnessed it), that same energy is not directed toward me.
