TO LIVE AND FRY IN L.A. In 2017, four childhood friends came up with a simple concept — take Nashville Hot Chicken and make it better than anyone else in America. With only a couple thousand dollars to their name, they boot-strapped a pop-up concept in a parking lot in East Hollywood serving a simple menu of tenders, sliders, fries, and kale slaw — they created a viral cult following with lines consistently over an hour long.

The vibe at Dave's Hot Chicken is cool. With all the art work and neon signs. Definitely a nice place to take the kids or to hang out with friends. The food definitely is great and the customer service is awesome, although it is a little on the expensive side. Definitely would be 5 stars if it were more reasonably priced.

My review is based on the delivery. I needed dinner but didn't have time to go out and get it so I ordered through Yelp for delivery. It was peak dinner time so I already knew there would be some what of a wait. I ordered their 2 tenders medium spice with fries. My order took about 30 mins before it go to my door. It was still hot which was great, so I didn't have to heat it back up. On the outside it looked dry, I assumed the spice that was put on basically covered the entire tender. I've seen Dave's Hot Chicken all over So Cal. This is the first one that I've seen in the Bay Area. I looked it up, and there are a half dozen other locations scattered around the Bay Area. So, how do they measure up? Pretty good. There are better chicken shops around, but Dave's is open late. That's uncommon in the Tri-Valley, so extra credit for that. Came here after visiting the outlets and the food and customer service was really good! The restaurant was clean and the staff was super friendly, even asked us how everything was after eating and gave me extra Oreos for my vanilla shake (: great energy, great food. Definitely would eat here again.

really cool vibe, lots of friends who recommended, the chicken is fire!
So so...Delicious! Ate here with my teenage son, who is obsessed with hot wings. We each had the #3 extra hot which came with a chicken sandwich, fries and a side chicken tender. It was so delicious. And the mac & cheese was superb and perfect. Creamy and good. Definitely coming back to this restaurant.

We did take out a couple of time. Kale slaw and Mac&Cheese are great. Spice level of chicken is good, but the chicken is so salty it's almost inedible. Not sure if I would go again.

Not the best picture but this goes to show I was munching away. Not only did this place cure my sadness but this place cured my depression. If you love chicken give your money to Dave's. We got hot for the heat level ( this was a shared meal to try) Fries were 100/10 very crunch crinkle cut perfectly seasoned.
