Poor support on software I am a IT Architect and have been for many years , I also am always bleeding edge . so full I am full disclosed The scanner works well when everything runs right . When I plug in the scanner the system thinks it is a USB drive. - BAD Support's answer is uninstall and reinstall. That is a lame answer. -BAD The device manager does not even know what type of imaging device it is and the only drivers you get are TWAIN -BAD. Would Not Recommend! Followed all the product instructions 1st time didn’t work as to not scanning. Removed everything from my computer and installed the software again, an once again got the same results as the 1st installed.
Returned I need one that can scan two sides of each sheet without having to manually do it.
Do not buy if upgrading to MacOS Catalina The software included does not work with Catalina and there is no update or substitute provided by Brother. Very disappointing as it worked fine before the upgrade and now is a paperweight. Correction: there is an update to the software but it is much less capable than the original. The scanner is not visible to Image Capture in MacOS Catalina either.
Not for modern secure users Absolutely driven by old software. You cannot even pick a folder in windows 10. I hate to say it, but the 620 I had in windows 7 was great. They haven't updated the software. I would look other places if you want a ease to use device. This one is a usb drive/firmware/software device. A lot of secure companies will not let the software in the pcs\ All honesty.
Products should not be sold with the expectation that tech support will be called. The scanner arrived with the inability to stay connected with several USB ports. There is no indication on the product that alerts you when it is warming up and when it is ready for use.
Make sure you have a dvd/CD ROM to install because drivers online obviously do not work It did not work. Unfortunately because I was slow to set it up, now I cannot return it.
Scanner software lacks a lot of necessary features I already have a scanning app on my mobile and it works well, but the amount of paper to scan increased, that why I bought this scanner. from HW point of view, I have no problem with this scanner, my problem is with the scanning software that comes with it. I can not crop the scanned image, no enhancement of what is ever. just simple scan and save. also, the size of the scanned file is huge and no optimization if you want to send as email. my mobile scanning app has rich fea... read more
