Does Not Scan Long Receipts If you are buying this for receipts, don't! Choose almost any other scanner. This one does not work with long receipts. I am returning.
Bad for photos - awful color reproduction I was impressed by how quick and easy this scanner is to use, however the quality of the scans makes it useless for photos. Out of the box, the scans had vertical streaks across all dark colors despite multiple calibrations and cleanings as recommended by the user manual(even though it was brand new). Adjusting the brightness and contrast helped this some, but they had to be adjusted so far as to make the colors completely inaccurate - skin tones were orange. Shadows and darker color... read more
Bad scanner. Won’t set up. I have owned many scanners over the years and never had any trouble setting up any of them until now. I don’t know if it is software or scanner but I can’t get this thing to work. I’m using a MacPro laptop with iOS 10.13 level but nothing. Waste of money.
No ICA driver means limited functionality on Mac I saw that this scanner was compatible with the latest macOS, and it had great reviews. But when I started trying to use it with my Mac, I realized a major shortcoming: this scanner has no ICA driver, and cannot be recognized by Image Capture or any apps that interface with it. It does have a TWAIN driver. But macOS uses ICA with Image Capture, and none of the apps I have still use TWAIN. Software from 1990 OMG, I should have known better than to buy a Brother product. They should be called "Oh Brother"! I had a Brother printer once and it was horrible. This product is completely out of date. The software is a joke. You have to install several different apps to make this thing work...if you ever do. I couldn't. After 90 minutes of trying to figure out where my documents were going (after choosing a folder on my drive) I still couldn't find them. Does the Job Let me start by saying I am a field technician that services Point of Sale, Computer, and Printer technology. I purchased this unit after doing some research. The reason for my purchase was two-fold. One was to scan documents used in my line of work. And the second was to scan register receipts. It was just a pain to put the receipt on the flatbed scanner bed, do the scan, then walk over and scan another receipt. One at a time. So far, I have no serious complaints about this unit. Does not work with New MAC It did not work with my new MAC, called the company, went in store to find help, nothing.
Too much of a hastle I was so excited for this purchase to make my life easier and clean up my desk space, but it has done the opposite. The software is outdated and frustrating to use. It's difficult to combine pages into one document as they scan. If something messes up you have to start completely over. That doesn't sound too bad until it messes up your 100 page document. Wish I had spent my money elsewhere!
