Utter Garbage Don’t Buy Seriously Run Forst off if you have an iPhone just walk away. Device does not connect to app even though my $600 desk printer from brother connects with no issues. I figured since my more expensive one woks what’s the harm and hey this one should work. Man was I wrong. Within 15 minutes of getting this today I was on the phone with tech support and that was like talking to a wall. I literally did my own tech support by telling them the steps I did that they told me to do again. This would only work wi... read more

Installation is a Disaster, Documentation is Horrible Software installation for the DS-940DW is horrible. The documentation sucks; pages and pages of Safety Guidelines, and no usage information. Whoever wrote the "Quick Setup Guide" should be shot. Brother used to put out quality products, What Happened? I am totally unimpressed.

I'm keeping this, but I'm angry -- I use with Chromebook I bought the network-capable version of the scanner because Brother at some site said "If you have a Chromebook, get the wireless one, because it saves to your google drive." This is false. The device does nothing of the sort. The software you load on your PC or Mac saves your stuff to google drive. So if you're using a PC or a Mac, you can scan from there, then walk over to your chrome book and use it there. ARGH. (Of course, the device also doesn't do OCR -- that's t... read more

Dead? Buy an NP 120 battery it’s the same as OEM. This scanner has worked well for me. However I just tried to use it yesterday and the battery was dead. I saw the Brother battery at $50. Nuts! I took mine out and googled the serial number. It’s an NP 120. Cheap! Bought 2 and a charger for $20 on Amazon. Feeling better. And none of those ultra painful “customer service” calls.

Jams quick Jams very quickly. Not suitable if you have 10 pages and have to feed them in one at a time. Jams, have to restart the machine, start over again. Portable, and size is great though

Very Very Poor Product Support and Functionality Extremely poor service. The device itself scans well but the battery life and general product support is unacceptably poor. After spending 140.00 USD, the device was never pragmatically functional. This is extremely disappointing.
