WiFi doesn’t work properly If you are looking for wireless product. That’s not for you. It can work fine with usb or micros sd. But I couldn’t use it because of poor WiFi functionality
Only charges connected to PC. Partial Mac support Not too bad but over priced. Battery won’t charge with charger. Charges only when plugged in to computer. The Mac software has less options than the Windows software. It thinks there’s a jam when no paper is picked up or paper length is longer than expected. Have to open and close the scanner to clear the jam and it it’s so hard to open it feels like it’s going to break. Scanner keeps going "off-line" after 3 scans The DS-840DW scanner is directly connected to PC via USB. After 3 scans, the scanner goes OFF-LINE and I cannot reconnect the scanner regardless of what is tried. The instructions that come with the scanner are inadequate, and the scanner is definitely not a "plug and play" devise. The regular support line did not yield a human being. Deceiving Description Wifi doesn't work. And, you can't use your mobile phone's wifi, cause it doesn't support 4g/5g etc...
Unable to make it work! I have not been able to install it and have it scan a document!
Slow and weak service. This scanner is the disaster. Compatibility is very poor on Linux distribution. The wifi connecting option on smartphone is hit and miss.
Difficult to pair in WiFi, many error messages The scanner would pair with WiFi with difficulty and unfair after a few minutes. I tried the product on three separate computers and two iPad's. The unit continuously gave error messages of paper jams when there weren't any. Except for non existing paper jam error messages the product works very well on USB and micro SD.
Beyond Disappointed I purchased this product prior to a trip home, where I wanted to start a project to preserve old family photos and documents. I did not expect the printer to be a brick and my idea fall through. 1. The battery is bad and will not remain on, unless it is plugged in. 2. The printer has never been used, and had a "Jammed Error." 3. The setup instructions are beyond awful. 4. Brother does not advertise the Micro SD card limitations at all. LOSES CONNECTION CONSTANTLY - DO NOT BUY I was looking for something to use a couple times a week to scan a few items. I went through all the set up and it worked fine. THEN, I turned my computer off. I had to do the set up again. It worked a couple of times. I unplugged the USB cord to store. I had to do the set up again. I have had to uninstall and reinstall 3 times. Now I cannot get it to work at all. DO NOT BUY THIS.
