Stopped holding a charge and app is lacking In less than 2 months it had to be plugged in for it to turn on and work. The apple app is missing some sharing methods and options to make storing/sending the documents easy. Use a Camera scanner pdf app and skip the hardware, thats what we have done now. Waste of money, I'm a huge fan of other brother products though, they are a great company.

Bad battery life The scanned images were fine, but we've used it for only 5 months (probably 1-2 times a week, approx 10 images at a time) and it no longer holds a charge. Then, you have to jump through a lot of hoops to get the warranty info. I thought it would be better, considering it's a Brother.
Difficult to set up Difficult to set up on the computer. Very difficult to link scanner to receipt software.
Hardest most difficult piece of tech I’ve ever bought I spent days trying to understand how this thing operates. The hardware, the firmware, the down where, the app where are the color oh my God… Why can’t it just be a simple as any other electronic technology? I’ve set up printers, computers, laptops, tablets, phones, iPads and I have never had so much trouble as I’ve had with this thing. I’m sending it back and I’m buying a different brand hoping for a better result
Getting this dumb thing to work is like pulling teeth. Still uses MicroUSB, doesn't have Bluetooth, connecting wirelessly to any device, Android or iOS, is like pulling teeth. Stupid waste of money.
Battery life did not live up to expectations & more difficult to use than advertised I found the battery needed recharging just after four sheets. I also found that connecting this to my wi-fi network was difficult and needed to be redone after being away for a couple days. I did like the quality of the scanned images.

Trims off the edges - not a good scanner Hardware is a solid piece. No complains. User friendly, portable, battery lasts longer. Gets a couple of attempts to figure out how it works, once you figure out, its a peanut-butter. No complains on the quality of scanned image. Solid one. Acceptable for OCR applications.
