Requested a quote on a simple plumbing task (bathroom faucet replacement) and got an auto and ridiculously inflated $250.00 This is not a difficult task. It's doable in an hour. I was feeling lazy, so I just wanted to see if I could outsource this... Do these vendors think Yelp users are not excellent comparative consumers with critical thinking skills? MoG and Jeezus H Christ.
We've used Excel for a number of projects and have been loyal customers to them, but our recent sump pump line project has been a nightmare. They executed the project in an extremely haphazard way with no pride shown in the work quality. They dug 150' trench through the yard which was expected, but overfilled it with dirt so that it is at least 10-12" higher than the rest of the ground so it cannot be mowed and basically divides the yard in half. Unfortunately did not have the outcome I was hoping for! Called Excel and told them I had antique 1970's American Standard toilets that needed to be repaired. Whoever I spoke to said he knew the exact toilets I was speaking of and told me they would have the parts in the truck. The repair man came told me the toilets needed new valves but did not have the parts and had no idea if they could get them. He told me I'd be getting a quote in a few days. Not sure why they say they're 24 hours when they don't answer early morning emergency calls. Very disappointed.

Hi Bonnie. I apologize that we missed your call. Outside of regular office hours we are limited to a single person. When the weather creates plumbing emergencies we often get a large burst of calls in a short period of time. It makes answering and tracking very difficult and we don't even have the off-hours capacity to handle it during those surges. I hope that you had your issue resolved.
Do NOT recommend! Well they came out promptly and fixed two slow moving bathroom drains, cleaned shower drain, BUT they charged $450.00 for a whole twenty minutes of work. Drains didn't need rodding, he just changed the stopper mechanism on one that had broken and cleaned a hair ball out of another. I was thinking because Union Plumbers run about $50.00 per hour, and he spent less than five minutes in each of three drains that I'd be paying $150.00 at most. Boy was I wrong. Came in for a clogged sink in my laundry room. Cut up some pipes without asking me first then told me they have to replace everything. Charged me over $400 for messing up my pipes and quoted me over $5000 to fix it. Do yourself a favor can call Pat from Drain-eez. He's an honest guy and won't try to rip you off.
Initially they were responsive and seemed to follow up. But after they mid-diagnosed a problem with my sump line and $1,900 later they will not get back to me to discuss any solution. All this occurred during the wettest spring we've had in years. My situation is worse before they arrived.
Hounded me and acted like I was a bad person for not getting back to them in a timely fashion. I found out that companies like this overcharge for everything, then the customer service goes out the window once you're done paying them. Easier to find a good plumber and develop a working ongoing relationship, rather than get ripped off by fly by nighters like Excel Plumbing.

I'm sorry you feel that way, Sir. It doesn't look like we've ever serviced you so I don't understand what you're basing your complaints on other than a generalized perception of the industry. I can understand thinking a licensed plumbing company is expensive, but we are reliable and stand by our work - The farthest from "Fly-By-Night" you can be. There's a cost for that and we're up front about it. I wish you the best of luck.
I had a leak problem and they came and didn't fix it. Charged me $200 without fixing anything. The plumber couldn't even find the shut off valve for the outside faucet. Worst service
